  • RCF-312A speaker popping, static noise from speaker when volume gain knob is adjusted

I am pretty sure I know the solution and I Googled the issue and couldn't find the repair option for it that I could swear I saw before. If I am correct this is caused by a part that you can replace that is used to adjust the volume/sensitivity control. With no sound coming through the speaker I can hear a fuzzy that is faint but audible enough. Some of it may be cable interference but after while it goes away. You don't notice any static when they are turned up loud. BUT - when I adjust the volume/sensitivity control on the back of the speaker it will pop and crackle. What part needs to be replaced to fix this?

Thanks in advance for any help.
