Sustain Issues

Hello Everybody... long time since I've been in the forums. Anyway, question

I have an Ibanez SR506 which I recently had set up in the fall. Plays great and I love the action my guy put in place... recently though I realized that I am having some very specific sustain issues. On my D and G strings, the sustain is noticeably pretty bad (as in short) up around the 8th, 9th and 10th frets, although It seems to be substantially better around the 5th and 12th frets, it is especially heinous around the 9th. Any ideas what might cause this issue specifically on only these two strings and only in this area of the fretboard? the A and C strings seem to be OK around these frets, and there are no real issues on the lower strings at all. There are no effects to have to worry about sucking tone, I am plugged straight in.

I am at a loss. I have not done anything corrective yet and thought I might check on some ideas on where to begin.

Truss rod? (it has 2) Carriage or saddle height? pickups?

Thanks for your input!
