Sound Quality: Now, this is my momentfor me to tell you the thing about this keyboard that fascinated me since the day I got it in 1992 until now: This is the BIGGEST SOUNDING Keyboard in the world!. Let me elaborate:

Play any other keyboard.....Roland, Yamaha, Kawai, Kurztweill, Technics etc......whatever.......and compare to the 01W/FD side by side. The difference in the sounds is like listening to Pet Shop Boys versus Pavarotti!. The HUGE SOUNDS in the Korg are unchallenged.

There is no other Keyboard that can match the pure muscle in the Korg 01W/FD's sounds. If you think the latest Korg Triton, Karma, Trinity and etc....have bigger sounds than the 01W/FD, you are wrong.

I have performed live using the Trinity, Triton and 01W/FD, all 3 at the same time. The warmth and thickness of the 01W/FD blew the other 2 keyborads away!. For eg.....I used the Strings on the Trinity and Triton while playing aggresive Classical passages in a Rock song. Sigh......the strings sounded so shrill, lifeless, small,processed and well.........just pathetic!. HA!.......when I played the same passage during the 2nd Chorus this time on the 01W.... my Gosh!......the whole song was lifted up!. Suddenly the whole band sounded alive again!.

It is the same with other songs when I used the Trinity, Karma and 01W at the same time.Each time I play the 01W, the thickness and live atmosphere was there. Even my local Korg dealer fully agreed that the 01W is the biggest sounding keyboard in the world.

I do play a mean Rock guitar solo using the much heralded Wah JoyStick Solo patch. My band mates were so impressed with this patch that everytime when it is my turn to solo, I will often go wild using this patch.......and make my lead guitarist (an excellent guitarist himself)smile in approval. You will be amazed that my rock guitar solostyle can make the guitar scream and wail like anything!. Not to boast about myself, but rather about the 01W.

The choir is so realistic.......try playing Beethoven's 9th Symphony theme and try telling me you are not impressed!. Is there any keyboard that can come close to this choir?. Again, very thick sound!.

I played Van Halen;'s "JUMP" on one of the synth patch.......wow!.....
Eddy would be proud when he hears this. So exciting sounds!.

I can go on and on about how thick and muscular the 01W is. Other keyboards including Trinity, Triton, Karma, Roland, Kawai and whatever are toys to me after playing the 01W/FD.
