Overall Rating: I've been playing for over 20 years.
I play Progressive hardrock/metal.
This guitar holds it's own in our style of music.
I'd have no problems buying another one.
I feel it's a very dependable quality made guitar.
It easely compares to Heritage, Gibson, Tokai, Hamer USA, or any other 22 fret set neck 24 3/4 scale mahogany LP style guitar.
Features: Made in Japan. Hamamatsu factory I believe (who make Tokai).
But to Pete Diodati's specs.

2 Gotoh vintage alnico 5 pickups
Passive electronics (Hardwired. No circuitboard as found on some Japan guitars)
Honduras 2 piece body
Honduras set neck
Medium set neck tenon. (extends all the way to the neck pickup cavity. But, doesnt have the tongue extending into the bottom of the cavity like a Gibby Historic)
Dark indian rosewood fretboard (not dyed)
MOP Trap inlays
Tusq nut
Acrylic lacquer finish (Applies thin like a Nitro. But, more durable like a Poly.)
LP style (actually more similar to a Heritage than a Gibson)

'59 neck profile

Sound Quality: I bought this guitar in 2003.
I had been looking for a LP style guitar to compliment my guitar collection. I had talked to Pete about his guitars for a couple months. Then a couple months after that, Pete emailed me about his last 59Q. Offered it to me at a price I couldnt refuse.
I went for it, and I'm very pleased.
The guitar plays, feels, and sounds beautiful.
Does the LP thing just fine. Which is what I was looking for.
The pickups, as mentioned, are vintage style alnico 5's. So, they are low to medium output pickups with very warm tones. Very clean in sound. Took me a bit to get used to. most of my guitars have super distortion or JB pickups. Which are hotter pickups.
But, this time I was looking for a guitar with a more classic tone. These deliver.
The guitar sustains very well. Which I feel is do to the medium tenon. Which is longer than a production Gibson short tenon.
The guitar handles everything from cleans to heavy distortion just fine.
When on high gain settings, rolling back the volume controls can
give some very nice overdrive or edgey clean tones.
There's not a thing I dont like about this guitar.
It fits my needs perfectly when I need LP type tones in our music.
Reliability/Durability: I've had this guitar now for about 8 months.
I've had no issues.
Only mod I've done is to put straplocks on.
Which I feel is a must on any LP type guitar.
The guitar has held up just beautifully.
I feel it's very dependable.
I have no problems gigging, recording, or band practicing with it.
Customer Support: Pete is a great guy.
Very helpful.
Will do what ever it takes to make the customer happy.
He stands behind his guitars 100%.
He very good about answering any questions or isuues you may have.
Purchased From: Diodati guitar company.
