For less than $200 bux???This thing rocks,if it was more than that I'd feel like I had been taken to the cleaners..It's kind of a toy when compared to Digitech and Line 6..

Their Effects are much better, cleaner. You can hear/feel it has that tube sound we all love but it is on the thin side I think..All in all it sounds pretty good but just not PRO sounding in any way shape or form...Oh and the clean sounds?Especially when compared to Digitech's stuff is terrible..

If you had nothing to compare it to then you'd think it's just fine but wow whenever I heard my buddies GSP1101 I was like,I am selling this and getting 1 of those..Bottom line here, for home use this is great for anything more than that it's not for me...

Features:

Has a ton of features, some very usable, some you'll never bother with..

More usables ones then not though..

has delay, chorus, flange, reverb,eq,compression, pretty much all the basics are here.

Sound Quality:

Well,I am still a tad uncertain about a few things...

The FX just blow,period..No matter what people here say they just don't sound good enough to my ears anyway, they sound flat, dirty, just not very good..Decent would be as far as I would say on the effects...I play metal, have active EMG's so the crunch and chug factor are there but just sounds on the thin side to me..I know if I record with this i would for surely have to add plugins like eq and real compression to get it to sound the way I would like it to..I have had just about every and any Preamp/Effects unit and I will say without hesitation the POD Pro XT and my buddies Digitech GSP1101 blow this thing to shame easily..Feature,Effects AND Amp Modeling, pretty much in every department BUT the price...Am guessing that must be why...I also tired it on my All Tube Randall and my band members just shook their heads no and said please..Just plug your guitar into the amp because the VOX thing doesn't sound better at all..I tried to dial it in a bit more and gave up and agreed.

Reliability/Durability:

I bet it would last quite awhile..I have never owned anything from VOX and more than likely don't plan on ever buying anything from them again. Not becuase they are a bad company, they just don't make amplifiers like I would use for what I like to do..

Ease of Use:

yes,VERY easy to use, skim over the manual a few times and you'll get the hang of ow to use it quickly..

Customer Support:

never had the pleasure..

I love this amp,it's not going to out chug a 100 watt all tube amplifier BUT I did get this to record with @ home, possibly hook up a 4X12 and mic it up and I am more than sure the results will be killer..

Without a doubt there wasn't anything anywhere near this as far as sound, price and quality goes back in 85,86..Well,Maybe Randall but nothing else that comes to mind...

NOT Marshall,NOT Mesa...no way......

Features:

Channel Switching,Reverb,Effects Loop,All Tube

Sound Quality:

I hear some people here say they couldn't get a "good" sound out of this no matter what they did????I couldn't EVER agree with that unless they just don't play METAL...

Not sayin thats all this amp is good for BUT it IS it's strongest feature no doubt.

The unit I have seems to have the original tubes in it.I changed out 2 of the gain stage tubes with Sovtek WXT's which aren't being produced anymore but are my favorite preamp tube when it comes to gain and the tome I like.Made a world of a difference btw..It sounded muddy, not as great as I remembered when I owned one of these nasty bad boys back in the 80's when i was 15 or so.

NOW it sounds killer and I know once I change the power tubes it will sound even better am certain.

Reliability/Durability:

Laney products are NOT junk, they are obviously built to last seeing as how this unit is @ least20+ years old.I did have it apart and NO caps are ready to burst or anything like that on the inside, all checked out well as far as my eyes see

Ease of Use:

VERY easy to use, couldn't be any easier I'd say..

Customer Support:

Well seeing as how I never had to deal with them because of any fail type issues and only emailed them asking for a schematic of this amp,2 days later there it was in my email so they are Customer Supporting a 20+ year old amplifier is just makes them a rarity in the Amplifier Business and top notch in my book..

Couldn't ask for anything more really...

Overall Rating: PLEASE,PLEASE don't buy these whatever you do.Save a LITTLE more $ and go buy ONCE and buy something that has been heavily reviewed THEN you'll know what the hell to expect.I understand it's is ALL a matter of preference, taste.I have been playing for 20+ years,I own some VERY serious equipment and usually don't mess around like this.My Jackson DMKG reverse has EMG's,I removed the crappy HZ's and installed REAL 81(Bridge) & 89 (Neck. That guitar has it ALL,Clean,Metal..Yes..It IS my favortie.I just wanted to "TRY" something different and I cannot tell you what a HUGE dissapointment these were they should be called CrackHeads..I also own a Fernades that is kinda weird, ity has an Active FGI (Never heard of it BUT is sounds Killer)in the bridge and some no name passive in the neck?I thought that was odd BUT it works in EVERY aspect of this guitar.I also just bought a Peavey Vortex V that I really like alot. The stock pickups are OK, much better than these *^$#heads..anyway and I want to replace them as well, thinking X2N?Love those blade pickups..@ home I run a UX8 w/GearBox as well as a Line 6 POD Pro XT Rack.@ Band Practice I destroy with a Randall V2 400 Watt head and a Randall Warhead 4X12,loaded with Vintage 30's.Not too shabby,The Jackson sounds soooo good on my amp, better than anything else I have ever played, owned in the past anyway.I'm pretty much thrilled w/my sound just trying to tweak some of my other guitars to sound as good w/out having to buy ALL EMG's...
Thanks for reading my review I hope it'll be helpful to somebody and will save someone else's time and $$ not to bother with these.
I wish I could've found something nice to say about these but I can't because there isn't anything nice to say, they are just terrible and would never buy another pickup from them again,However they DO have some other very cool preamps, etc. on their site.
Features: Humclucking...Passive.
Ok,
Here we have a set of Ebay/Guitarheads Hex pole Pickups in White.
They DO in fact "Look" cool, which is what caught my attention.I needed White Pickups specifically so I figured I'd try these.
I had them installed by a PRO and I just can't believe my ears.
These are THE WORST pickups I have EVER used in my 20 Years of playing Heavy Metal Music,well..OK the Pickups that used to come stock on those Harmony Guitars MIGHT be a tad worse.
It's nice that you can adjust each pole piece BUT that won't help here @ all,In terms of sound.Let me say how cool they do look once more..
Sound Quality: Output level???Paaahleeez.......These are SO quiet you HAVE to wonder where this guitarhead guy is getting his #'s from in terms of output,
16.4k Ohms for the Bridge position? VERY doubtful. My neck pickup is MUCH louder and the # for those is much lower???(8.6K Ohms on the Neck ).These things have NO gain and remind me of a crappy version of the Screamin Demons, yes you all remember those. They are NOT a highgain pickup like you would have thought (George Lynch n all)..But they were simply made to "Clean Up" when backing the volume off.Not really even those because @ least those had a Great Tone to them.OK back the the review of these pitiful pickups NOT even worthy of the cool Headbangers Ball Lettering that they have on the very botton coil.
I had them wired in a coil split configuration so that my tonal options would be wider.Listen up,I seriously was like well OK,if the Metal sounds aren't that great since I wired them in a push/pull/coil split configuration that I'll @ the VERY least would be able to use them for some Clean type playing..Ahhhh...NOPE,another dissapointment.
I tried to dial a halfway decent acceptable metal tone in Gearbox (Modeling Software)No go.Like I said earlier when I came to terms that these were NOT going to work for my Metal recordings ,MAYBE they will work for cleaner material and still was VERY dissapointed w/the tone, output level.Just everything, the fact that I even paid $$ for these, then paid $$ top get them installed by someone who does just that for a living rather than to have myself to blame for doing a half assed job.Not that I would on 1 of my guitars,I figured just have a professional do it and there will be NO 2'nd guessing...

Overall Rating: I also run a small studio,motu,2 pc's,behringer board, condensor mikes, all monster cable,v-amp2,4-channel headphone amp, alesis ra-300 watt amp,2 pairs of monitor 1's,Randall half stack, ibanez bass, alesis drum machine so as you can see i am a busy boy.Have evrything i need to make music alone without having to rely on others.I would definetley buy another if it were lost or stolen.I did compare it to a Peavey XXX and the amp was awesome, but a 1,000 for an amp with no reverb? NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!Esecially a Peavey for that matter..I do wish it had either a master volume or 3-channels,other than that this amp has got it all.If you don't have alot of money or even if you do for this kinda price range you will absolutley not do any better,I have also heard amps like the bogner and some others that are alot more cash and do not crunch like this bad larry does.If your looking for a new versatile amp that does the crunch thing execptionally well and a clean sound to die for look no further CARVIN has the answer.
Features: Just came today, checked it out tonight with my drummer. It needs to be a lil louder,KT66 tubes perhaps it could be modified?Love the longtailed patented reverb, footswitch nice.100 watts of all tube power, seems a little bit less in my opinion. However the crunch is there if ya know what i mean you'll like it at the very least.FX loop, reverb on/off via footswitch,50/100 watt switch,EL34/6l6 switchable powertubes, some of the very best features in this box-o-crunch
Sound Quality: The clean channel is the best i've heard in my 21 years of playing.I am killing a JACKSON DMKG and a ESP LTD Explorer, the jackson has EMGHZ pickups with an adjustable gain boost on it to push the CARVIN even a little harder and the ESP is housed with the SEYMOUR DUNCAN SCREAMIN DEMONS neck and bridge. For cabs i hurt the following with this amp,a PEAVEY cab with GL 35-watt celestions and a RANDALL cab with VINTAGE 30'S.No other fx but an old MORLEY WAH PEDAL.I am very capable of getting the sounds i need to play all the music i play which is heavy metal, funk, blues. This amp has a tone all of it's own not like a RECTUMFIRE,or MARSHALL,PEAVEY, or that over priced peice of junk they call UBERSHIT.I am very happy with my new purchase, all my friends gave the nod of approval so i'm siked
Reliability/Durability: I slammed it hard into the wall as soon as i took it out to my truck by accident,I was very shocked to feel how solidly built this thing really is.So like i said just bought it tonight,so we'll see.I'm sure this will do fine
Customer Support: Let me assure you when Nick from their customer service department told me the amp would arrive today....He was not fucking around, great bunch of guys over there and i look forward to dealing with them in the future if neccessary!!!

Overall Rating: I play Heavy Metal, this is the best amp modeler i've heard so far.So you can forget about your GAY STATIONS or your PEA'S AND POD'S or your LINE SHITS for this kinda cash pleez you cannot go wrong! If it were lost or stolen somebody you can bet your ass is gettin a BEATING!!I LOVE BEHRINGER PRODUCTS!As far as a wish list one other axe slinger hit one of the best ideas this thing needs a RACKMOUNT,BUT i got another one for ya A 12AX7 PREAMP TUBE would do this amp simulator justice. KEEP ON PLUCKIN!
Sound Quality: ok here's the deal as far as a SETUP goes i run a lil studio for myself, recorded 2 or 3 heavy metal bands,2 out of 3 guitarists wanted to record with the v-amp instead of their rigs miked up in all their glory! The noise gate on this one i swaer is not too much better than on v-amp1 they are both useable.I do hard disc recording and i like to add the fx after on my computer but i have recorded with fx and got pleasing results.Funny thing that gets me is you get these people who own 1000$ tube amps and they try or do use 1 of these in front of it.Hell i TRIED it on my Randall Protube 2000 100 watt all tube head, that was a waste of time.THE V-AMP2 is a VIRTUAL AMP..Meaning in the right enviorment this will do what it's suppose to do,Model Amps.By the way for those of you who do not know the<RIGHT ENVIORMENT>is recording on your computer period.THE AMP SOUNDS ARE AWESOME
Reliability/Durability: Yes the input jack on this thing does suck, just be careful VERY and you SHOULD be OK.I just bought V-AMP2 and have owned the first one for about a year and never had any and i do mean any probleams at all with my particular unit.Gig?You Say? NOT WHEN your running dual tube 100-watt halfstacks!! Can you say CHUG?
Ease of Use: Well first things first you need to learn how to use this thing.Editing is a breeze once you figure it out, manual is very useful.
Customer Support: I own like 5 pieces of gear from them,NEVER had any problems, never had to deal with them either.
