Overall Rating: Now 42,
I've gone through classical training (piano being the primar) in Tampere Conservatory age 6 -15

Switched very quickly (during the ctry-training) to electric gtr.

Played HM, psych-/artrock, reggae/dub, jazz-rock-fusion, freejazz, theatre, crossart/performance.

Technically confident-artistically and tonewise hungry; in which situ the Ethos fits most luverly!!!

It's awkie for me to say, but GAS could probably be taken under control, likl' by likl. And considering this particular item, Ethos
has answered many-a-plenty questions, suspicions and mysteries and will apparently do so ad infinitum.

Have been through D*-striving apparatae for a while now, Barner Burn Unit will be one to (under severely controlled circumstances) stay on as a rescue-unit,(only in a most dreaded fiction) my precious was ever to fail...
I'd order another and probably will, anyhow...
Sound Quality: I've now had this marvel for just three day, but i've given it a good seeing to.
Now, my main gtr is a Carvin H2T (maple body+neck/mahogany top, oil/wax finish, AH/Carvin hb's w/ series/parallel swtchs, Wilk trem+locking tunas).
Also tested it w/PRS eg h-s-s setup, Parker Classic, Gibson LP Std. DC (-98), Jap Tele, etc.
The sgnl chain's been Tech21 Comptortion>Ethos nrml out> Mesa Blue Angel 1x12" (dry)
+ Ethos spkr sim. out> Yamaha UD-Stomp>stereo to flat eq monitors (4 fx)

As said, this honorable piece of engineering artistry truly needs tweaking and you will be astonished in every turn it gives you.

My point has been (for 20+ yrs) to capture the tones of Holdsworth (tones, the mastery is way beyond), E.Johnson, later on H. Kaiser, R.
Ford (Jing Chi) and now, as a little bit of a late bloomer, maestro Jimmy Herring...(And i must persist i don't care about blues, whtsvr)

So, the D-word is inevitable here.

And Ethos delivers. Seriously.

With Ethos you'll be drawn into a tonal bliss (as goes; tweaking&turning -)always finding awesome sweetspots no matter the gear you using.

Absolute magic! (And i'm not working for them)
Reliability/Durability: As i'm not an engineer meself, i've gotten into a habit of checking under the hood, kicking the tyres...(f* me)

What can i say, for the little i know, all the components are of top grade, won't get you in a trouble as long as you keep 'em inside the aluminium box, the switches are the sturdiest i've encountered, everything is extremely tidy, some stuff, sophisticatedly sealed, beyond recognition (which is fine, w/this enthusiasm involved in design), HD/HC allthaway, brilliant!!!

Seriously, this one is about to survive, generations on...
Ease of Use: This product demands your total focus and definitely a matured taste.

1-10

It's practically impossible to go wrong or sound bad on any taken setting, but to enjoy it to the fullest, this exquisitive product
requires fitting the sonic blocks (ie. type of gtrs+pups> fx to go front and after > amp type as in type of tubes used>headroom >cab type et.al.)really carefully.

Here we're talking about a dozen-course dinner w/finely chosen wines/beverages to fit each piece.
Customer Support: As far i know, Ethos is available only on-line. USresidents, i know notss...
We've had lotsa email-traffik amongst us and want to thank Rob (Il Maestro) himself and Sue for being most informant, generous and patient with our on-goings.

Heartly recommended!

I've been playing since i was three, starting on piano, guitar since 1980 (13 at the time) pro on-off, theater and other cross-artistic *****, quite a lot non-profit gigs because of the marginality of my style.
I have some 20 guitars and basses (all of them electric - no acoustics in da house!)some quite eclectic (Steinberger w/ transtrem, custom made fretless baritone...), some obvious classics and a couple of modern standards (ibz rg's, S's, 80's Kramers...).

I play through a 2.1 setup: Mesa Blue Angel dry in C., Yamaha DG+UD, Boss GT-10(and stuff...!) in stereo L/R.

This is the most progressive guitar designed and built since the Steinberger (or Parker, if you wish). For acquired taste only!

I shall never part with mine, nor should anyone even try to separate us - you shall perish if you do! And your kin!
Features: 2008 (Korea?)
36 frets (24 hi-tall, 25-36 vintage narrow)
Mahogany body W/5-bolt maple/wenge 5-pc. neck W/maple fboard
Matt black 'Stealth'-finish also back of the neck
1 vol, 1 tone W/push-pull pu split
1 alnico HB

Extremely ergonomic and futuristic body design, makes your Parker feel like a Tele! Optimal playing position both sitting and standing.

Build quality best you can get in a factorymade instrument.
Sound Quality: Despite the lack of neck pu, the bridge hb covers lots of field, especially if your signal chain is mostly digital. No vintage sounds - this is definitely not for retro-purists ( you may well stick to your F's and G's - there's nothing for you here!) Coretone is surprisingly warm and meaty, considering the unusual built. Feedback can be musically controlled and the Q-curve is even all through.
Reliability/Durability: I play mostly improvised music (no boundaries, no reservations) where the guitar needs to able to take unexpected assa??lts with vigour and lead me where few men have been.
This is THE Instrument for those brave and willing to explore and f* the conventions of the electric guitar! I just wish they still offered the fretless version of this (the late FX)! Or a doubleneck FX/R!!!
Get one before it's too late! Inventions of this scale get the attention only when they're already gone...
Customer Support: I was in tight contact with the distributor i bought mine from (GuitarX in Denver) and he (mr. Gary Rosen) led me through the whole process with patience and kindness.
