Overall Rating: First..I really like this thing...if you ever thought..gee I'd like something other than a typical stompbox to step on when you take a lead or accent a song..well here it is..come and get it!

Next...while there are a couple of other similar sounding devices out there...if your the type who has wondered..what would it be like if the maker put enough ability to tweak the box fully for better or worse throwing caution to the wind regarding results so you could endlessly experiment...again...wonder no more...come and get it!

I'd buy another in a heartbeat cause its very useable if you let yourself get into it. You dont have to max it out every inch of the way...play it cool and its musical as all hell yet nicely different...go extreme and surprise..even shock yourself and others...you'll have all the girls and boys wondering how you did that...whatever it was..if ya wanna!

Also...this gets along great with my other boxes...I use it right along with an M-13...no problem....sounds insanly good with a POG btw as well as wah pedals and auto wahs..use all your whirly swirly stuff with it...you name it.

I have fun with this pedal...I would caution though...this aint your daddies tube screamer...so much more than a ring modulater and you need to be a tweaker...other than that....lots of possibilities!
Sound Quality: Ok...when I first plugged it in my reaction was to leave the room twisting my hair and mumbling ..mommy ..mommy!

Never felt like that from a stompbox before!

Than...Once I settled down and decided there was no way to just flip from table to table and see what it can do...I just chose the first one and developed something of a system of knob tweaking that worked the table through its paces so to speak.

You have to understand or not...this thing can make sounds that will make sense to you or no sense at all..noise if you will...good noise..bad noise???? your call..who knows!

Many of the sounds I like... I craft with the idea of using the pedal as a very unique distortion or fuzz box...nothing to extreme but with over and under tones that can be metallic or octavelike...or similar to various filters you may have used....The idea is making its preamp duties dominate and letting the noises be more tightly controlled.

The tables do intensify as you go...up to you to figure out which is the least intense and how to group them..but a fuzz box setting thats musical can than be changed to a sound effect by simply moving the table up one or two..so its not always a matter of starting over again and again.

Speaking of sound effects this thing is full of um...ringers..computers...spaceships...just fiddle and find.

In any case there is no way to say that it sounds right...or it sounds rinky dink...just not possible because...those are both possible!

The 10 is because...I was hoping it would do what it does and I'm thrilled to death with how it sounds doing it. Theres no other way to say that concerning this item!
Reliability/Durability: Seems well built...nothing flimsy or cheapy here...seems as good as the best pedals you've ever seen!

Havent had it long enough to say it'll last..but it appears that it should.
Ease of Use: Due to the nature of this effect...its not hard to understand what the knobs are doing or how to use them....the effectivness of thier use depends on how you envision or grasp the possible uses of the unit! This is gonna vary a lot from person to person
Customer Support: Dont know never contacted them

This is a case of splitting a hair to many times...going to the well once to often....I dunno!

I own a Fulldrive...total exellence. I also own an OCD...again I bow to the greatness of its creater.

But......

The Catalst is a complete waste of money...garbage beyond garbage...I wouldnt even puke on it so not to offend the puke!

As a boost..ok it boosts...but there is no quality overdrive or distortion on your way to the fuzz.

Its abrupt...there is no smoothness or decent level of sustain enhancement.
Nothing silky on any level going on here.
It does not resemble any type of classic type fuzz or modern fuzz you've ever heard.
Its claim of replacing several pedals on your pedal board is a joke. Not only is the joke unfunny...I think its complete false advertising.
This is proof that just because a company makes other good products it doesnt mean everything is as good...also proves boutique doesnt always count for anything worthwhile.
I hung in there with it for a few weeks trying it with several amps...Twin Reverb...Blue Angel...Carr Mercury...with several guitars...PRS McCarty...several reissue Strats...G & L Asat Classic S.
Get the picture...all quality amps and guitars.
I'm returning it...I'm out the shipping..thanks!
Discount my review all you want...YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!
Sound Quality: Total absolute crap...sorry...its true!
Reliability/Durability: Looks like it could last a lifetime...similar to the companies other products I own.
Ease of Use: A monkey could run it!
Customer Support: Never had to call them.

Overall Rating: I've been playing guitar for 39 years. I own many guitars. Fender , Gibson ,PRS,G&L,Gretsch,Rickenbacker,Carvin. I play Rock , Hard Rock, Classic Rock ,Blues , Jazz , a bit of Metal when I want to blow the stink off. For most of what I play the 137 is perfect. I love the semi - clean growl and snarl this guitar gets. I've tried other P-90 guitars ,even the expensive ones and this guitar rocks. If something happened to it I'd get the same guitar all over again. If it were stolen I would'nt use that as an excuse to try something else. I'd want another 137.
Features: Purchased new Febuary 2006

Honduran Mahogony neck and body

Nitro finish

Lollar P-90's

Pigtail fully adjustable wraparound bridge

Grover tuners

2 volumes 2 tones 3 way switch

Exactly the features you'd expect to find on this type of guitar. The adjustable bridge is a nice touch.
Sound Quality: This guitar nails the P-90 experience. Huge sound yet single coil. The neck pickup is big and fat sounding. Nice and rich and full. The bridge pickup has a nice level of brightness without being thin. No harshness at all. When clean the guitar get this really nice low growl that becomes more present as you bring up the volume. This is why you want this guitar. When you add gain the guitar just soars. It handles dirt extremely well retaining a very nice level of clarity thru distortion. Great note separation. No mud! BTW the tone controls on this guitar work. You roll it back a little and you have useable tone not just dullness. Also worth noting. I use 9 - 42 strings and the guitar still sounds fat. You dont need 10's unless you like them. This is important to me. I like lighter strings because they are so bendable.
Reliability/Durability: This guitar seems to be as solid and sturdy as a guitar can be. I have an H 535 that I've owned for a couple of years. Never a problem. Not one! From all I can see I expect the same from the 137 so I'll give it high marks based on my other experince with Heritage.
Customer Support: As mentioned before I've had no problem with my 535 so I have had no need to deal with Heritage in this regard.

I will say that I spoke to Gram at Wolfe's a few times in making this purchase. The guy was great! He had excellent product knowledge. He was always pleasent, cheerful and more than happy to talk to me.Even when I caught him having lunch. He ended his lunch and took my call. His out of hand description of the guitar regarding apperance, feel and sound was dead on. I told him I wanted the fattest sounding 137 he had and he came through. Gram also had a great interest in my having the best possible experince dealing with Wolfe's. This guy should be cloned and used as an example to show what a guitar salesman should be like. I'm thinking that if I did have a problem Gram and Wolfe's would take care of me.
