I bought it used at an insane price, so its worth every penny.
I love how the arps can recognize chords. I hate how there's no 16-part performance mode like Korg/Roland.
I chose this one because its the best one i could find in my country for what i've paid.
I wish it had PLG plug in support. Also wish it has full XG Support. or at least XG-translator software for XS.
It does not help me make music as much as arranger keyboards.
Overall, I'm happy with it. Fat sounds

Features: Excellent keyboard action - infamous FS action used in high-end Electone.
I do think SY85's action is one of the best, although very different.
Another action to compare is Korg M3.
Effects are high grade, you can hear it. You get what you pay for. Yamaha has the best, imho Reverbs.
I upgraded mine to 1GB RAM. It takes about a minute to load 250MB sample from USB. The low speed can also be attributed to my standard usb-flash drive (average in the market = 5MB/sec read). It helps to get a high speed USB-flash drive that goes over 25MB/sec read rate.
Sequencer - still no staff editor in any keyboard, but I find XS's sequencer to be intuitive, friendlier than Karma's.
Sound Quality: I absolutely love the sounds. I don't like playing piano patches on this because I already have a weighted digital piano. Its just not the same. But judging the sound, it is acceptable.
The 60s,70s,80s sounds are very good! I'm very inspired to play them.
To my suprise the Sax works wonderfully. I always use Soft Soprano AF patch, tweak its cut-off. Nice !!
Can transmit Velocity value 1 up to 127. Very high quality.
Reliability/Durability: Built like a tank.
Everything oozes with quality and durability. This is made in Japan !
Although,no one in right mind would gig with anything without any backup, no matter how expensive their gear is.
Ease of Use: Upgraded to latest firmware
Preset is oh so good. Very very usable
Editing Patches is a breeze with its sliders, knobs, logical GUI
Manual is just basic, not very in depth.
Even though the OS is very complex and deep, it is fortunately very logical, easy to use. (Unlike Alesis QS series)
Customer Support: Have not deal with them yet
