Very decent student guitar. At the time it really stood out compared to all the very pricy and not particularly special name brand models. It was a stunning guitar compared to most of the low end junk that used to be made.
I have a Seville that is very different from any I find mentioned online. Mine is an explorer shape with an explorer hockey stick type headstock probably going back to the 70's sometime. Its a bolt on neck. The neck is not maple it seems softer like mahogany. The color seems different but maybe its the finish. The body might actually be mahogany. The body seems smaller that a real gibson and the neck is a jumbo fret with a fat round neck carve.
I think it used to have a nice cherry sunburst finish but I stripped it off. The neck shifts in its neck pocket now but I think it used to be fine and its probably something dumb I did to it back in the day. The fret job seems a bit of a hack with some divots where the fret ends were done but the frets are level and the neck plays great. I need to shim the neck up and get it back to playing.
Always sounded good and felt great. I think the original pickups were unpotted so they would feedback at extreme gain.
The neck pocket is the only issue and I think I caused that.
Playability was always great.
