I'd tried out this axe a couple years ago and was impressed but unwilling to part with the $600 or so it cost then. But at $269, I could no longer resist. It is EXACTLY what I want in such an instrument. The right sound, the right feel, the right look, the right price. Nothing I'd add or change. Other guitars with similar sound and quality and features are typically 4x the price or far more.

Were it lost/stolen I'd want to replace it but won't be able to.... look at what I paid for it! They are being closed out and will be gone soon; this was the last one in my local store. Get it NOW if you can - or spend $1100 on the Guitar Research model that's replacing it.
Features: Blond body finish with no sunburst or other effect; otherwise identical to previous descriptions. I'm giving it a 5 only because such a guitar's charm is its LACK of 'features'.
Sound Quality: Great sounding jazz guitar. The hollow body makes its presence known. I've played it through a few different amps including a Fender PrincetonReverbII and a PA system, and it sounds full and round through all of 'em.

Again, other reviews have said it well.
Reliability/Durability: It all seems to be solid and high-quality. Time will tell I guess. Dunno if I'll be gigging as a jazz guitarist anytime soon, but this guitar seems up to the job.
Customer Support: n/a as of yet. two year warranty. I've bought other stuff from them, and they've always been good about warranty support.

Overall Rating: Now that I've found just what's available under the hood, this amp gets a 9 rating from me. Only reason I'm not giving a 10 is because of my own preference for separate heads & cabinets.
Features: See the other reviews - no need for me to be redundant here. I use all the available features of the amp.
Sound Quality: I'm using it with a Strat, and pushing it thru a 4x12 cab in addition to the stock 12" speaker. The extra body added by the closed 4x12 turns it from a good amp to a great amp.

The reason I'm writing this review is to impart some potentially useful info. I didn't have the standard footswitch (rare, apparently) so I used a Peavey dual switch. Turns out that the sweetest sound available in this amp is an overdrive (NOT the distorted 'lead' sound available from the front pullswitch) which is available only by avoiding the RED switch input entirely. In the PLAIN jack, the tip switches reverb and the ring accesses this overdrive. This is probably the "mythical Rivera Ciruit" you hear so much about.... lemme tell you it ain't a myth. It's real, and it's awesome. Not long ago I was gonna trade this amp in fo something else, but since I found this overdrive I'm keeping the amp.

I do like the 'lead' sound too.... I'm in the process of customizing the amp to make the normal, overdrive, and lead sounds (and the mid-boost too) available from footswitches. It's like having 4 different sounds at your feet. Who knows - when I figure it out maybe I'll market it or something.
Reliability/Durability: Never broken down. Got dropped right on a top corner once, and only scraped off a bit of Tolex. Th wood stayed intact, and the amp is fine.

Overall Rating: I originally got hooked by the 1st demo track and the user interface; I was originally gonna just play w/ it a bit & return it after two weeks for a refund. But I just am blown away by it; I couldn't bear to part w/ it! And it just happens to fit very nicely atop my Hammond <g>

When I got it, I was also looking at the NordLeadII and the Korg MS2000 (as well as some others). There's just nothing in the price range that gives the combo of sound & interface this keyboard provides. There's plenty I wish it did; but then I'd be spending $3K on an Andromeda or something - and it wouldn't fit atop the Hammond. For a new synth under $1K this is as good as it gets, and even if I spent much more I might get some better sounds but NOT the interface - I don't think any surpass it. Making music is easy on this machine. No regrets on buying it. Too bad they discontinued it - I hope Roland uses most elements of it in a future offering.
Features: 8 note polyphony - I'm starting to find that a limitation once in awhile (but not often). It's really only a limitation when I'm too lazy to haul my other keyboard around. The built-in delay is good; the other effects are OK but not great.

No expansion capability. Lacks MIDI thru! Also lacks aftertouch (though I don't mind) and I haven't really used the sequencer - but I find the built-in patterns kinda limiting.

The user interface is awesome though.... I find the general layout easier to comprehend than almost any other programmable synth I've seen. The modules are well laid out, the pitch-bend/mod lever is great, and the ribbon controller is awesome! Toss all the other stuff; this and the sound is why I bought it.
Sound Quality: There is NO realistic sound in this board; it seemingly wasn't designed for that. It WAS designed to make you feel like you're playing a combined Minimoog/Prophet, and it does that wonderfully! While I'm finding some limits & quirks to it's sound-generating ability, it gives me tha ability to emulate most anything I hear from Pink Floyd, Rainbow, ELP, Yes, and similar bands. And it seems to be pulling me toward dance-type stuff also....

It is quite playable. I've played better-feeling keys, but the rest of the interface makes up for whatever it lacks in key feel. Velocity works well; there is no aftertouch.
Reliability/Durability: Haven't had it long enough to address these questions....
Ease of Use: Latest software version, whatever that is. Some good presets, some just average. All are good starting points for creating your own performances & patches though. And doing that is simple & fun w/ the knobs & sliders. The manual is OK - it helps when intuition fails.
Customer Support: Roland US support is lacking. Wish I lived in Canada sometimes - Roland support north of the border seems much better.
