Someone needs to tell Nancy Pelosi to suck up and accept the pay cut. Maybe the AIPAC lobbyists that she is so fond of will reimburse her for the difference.
On this we can agree.

Who gives a shit what Nancy Pelosi wants? There's no filibuster in the House. Republicans do not need her support to give themselves a pay cut.
So when can we expect the House to vote themselves a pay cut? This week? Next week? There's no reason to wait for sequestration, they could make it happen today. The voters demand action.

If you really wanna hear them squeal, shut down K Street, where many of them go to "retire". Lobbyists have us by the short hairs.

Funny how we see different sides of the same coin. I am very pleased with the "obstructionists", in fact that is precisely why we sent them to Washington DC. I am strongly opposed to most things that the Dimmocraps would ram through if they could, so naturally I would feel that way. I'm sure you like Dims to be the loyal opposition whenever R.s hold the majority.
But the bottom line is that we, as a country are usually better off when Congress is constipated and doesn't pass much of their crap.
Gotta laugh at you libs who can't agree with the op since he is pointing out how asinine a D. is.
Congress was designed to work together. That's what the word means.
The founding fathers did not want a parliamentary system of winner take all. They wanted peple to come together and reach a concensus. Long since forgotten. Only the second amendment is recalled by way too many these days.
Obstructionism is a very bad plan. I dont want to see Dems get everything they push for. But compromise is a good thing. Solve the effing problems. Together. You know- "team work". what an effing concept.
This idea that obstruction is somehow desirable is ridiculous. That's why we are in this manufactured crisis today with the sequestration. That is why the US government's credit rating went down and borrowing rate went up when S&P down-graded this country.

"Who gives a shit what Nancy Pelosi wants?"
Not me.
It's a non-issue. It doesn't matter. They have real work to do this is just poitical jockeying and politicians wanting to get the name/picture in the paper for the folks back home.

no, the credit downgrade was because the US doesn't have a budget for last 4+yrs.
sequestration was meant to be a huge red deadline.
get a grip or this will happen, cuts that no one likes.
these morons on both sides should get off their duff and take care of biz on time.

I really don't care much for Pelosi but I don't think her motives are selfish in this case. She's rich. Her pay probably isn't important at all to her. I think she's opposing it for others' benefits.

I guess. I don't really know the net worth of every congress rep. In the interest of full disclosure, I do have a friend who is a rep and she's worth many millions (not Pelosi rich but several dozens of millions) so you may have a point.

How about all these uber-wealthy congress-folks accepting no pay until they've fixed the problems their greed caused? Maybe the Repug ones could set a good example, you understand...show up the Dems!
Like that'll ever happen.
