If I can't feed my family, I shouldn't be taking them to airshows. If the U.S. government can't pay its bills without borrowing irresponsible amounts of money, it shouldn't be participating in air shows. Even turning over one of those F/A18 engines and burning a single gallon of jet fuel, when we can't pay our bills, is an absolute no-no.
Retire those pilots, or rotate them back to combat or training units. Mothball the airplanes.
See how easy it is to make responsible choices?

But the Oil War must march on.

Local organizers are willing to pay the 150K to keep the beach show. It's a big tourist draw for the area and a great recruitment tool.
Pensacola? Not Mobile? Well, that's Florida's 1st District, Cong Jeff Miller (R), a darling of the TeaParty.
Cut away, Mr. President!

Why do you hate the Department of Force Projection?

Huge recruitment money pits like the Blue Angels and Nascar should have been cut long ago.
Its the price of a volunteer army. As long as they maintain the program, standing down on some of the blues shows doesnt bother me. Its a damb cool airshow act. It would be interesting what is the most valuable recruiting and PR organization. Nascare is big.

Things like the Tbirds, the Blue Angels, and the Nascar teams are nothing more than propaganda intended to instill patriotism and ensure the next generation of cannon fodder. They should be done away with.
Bullshit. If you ever saw the Blue Angels fly, you wouldn't say that. They are a great propaganda tool for the United States worldwide that doesn't involve firing a shot. I've seen them at least a dozen times, in numerous venues, including an incredible show over the San Francisco Bay.
You're just a party poop.

Notice when it comes to the US military and motorsports sponsorships the detracters always bring up NASCAR but never mention Indy Racing and the NHRA...wonder why.![]()

Flyovers are done in conjunction with flying hours that need to be logged anyway and don't add any cost to mandatory training.
To arbitrarily cancel these for sporting events is an unnecessary dick move. They don't cost any extra.

Yep and it doesn't cost one penny extra because it logs mandatory flight hours.
Even if you cut the hours, you could still schedule these flyovers and still not add any cost.
You could ground the entire military and it still wouldn't satisfy these commies.
