So what is your point?
Come out and say it, you are a reverse racist. You are tooting your horn for Obama.
You're an idiot. I simply can't hold back from saying that any more. Really....reverse racist?
Get a clue.
For the terminally stupid, like you, direct from Wikipedia:
Reverse racism is a term which refers to racial prejudice or discrimination directed against the traditionally dominant racial group in a society. It is sometimes used as a pejorative description of systems which discriminate in favour of members of racial minorities, more formally known as reverse discrimination.
Judge yourself.....

That's not an answer to the OP's question.

Another conservative with no concept of American history and no ability to have perspective concerning historical, cultural and political issues?

I have quite a good concept and perspective of American history. I'm fully aware of the fact that the first black president is historical, albeit not in the same sense as 911, JFK's assassination, the moon landing, WW2, the Civil War, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, etc.
In fact it's quite miniscule on the scale of importance compared to the events I listed above, which actually effected the course of history and/or millions of lives.
I find it pretty humourous that a bunch of white liberals think it's such a monumental event. If you're black, I would presume some pride would be felt, but at the end of the day it really isn't going to effect your life. ![]()

I do the "your" for "you're" frequently. It must be deep seated Oedipal issues.

That's a pretty big mistake, as one implies ownership and the other is short for you are.

What I see here is part of the reason many people in the world do not like Americans.
"I don't care about anyone else but me and/or my kind. The rest of you are sub-human"
You claim that 911 is significant because the US was on the receiving end but it is routine for the US to bomb others and kill them by the hundreds of thousands in an effort to protect "American interests."
If you look at the history of racism in America, the election of a non-white President is very significant whereas explosions and killing people are commonplace.

Well stated!

I'm proud to live in a country where a black man can be elected and re-elected to be President.
I'm ashamed to live in a country where 50.5% of the voters elected and re-elected that same man solely because of his race. Where is the colorblindedness if you voted based on race?

911 changed the course of current history. The president's skin color has changed nothing. Other than perhaps dividing the country further.
And I don't think anyone is "sub-human" except people who harm children or murder innocent people for kicks or profit.

I voted for Obama and it had nothing to do with his race. I guess I was in the .6% of other Obama voters?
Where did you come up with this figure anyway?

How do I feel about living in a time when history, in the form of a black president is being made?
I'm a little ambivalent. When I was born, America was the greatest nation in earth. Our schools were "second to none" (not that anybody was counting). We were a net exporter, rather than an importer. We made nearly everything we needed, Japan was a weak little nation and China was notable mostly for the restaurants they sent us.
On the other hand, Segregation was still in its last desperate days, "n****rs" were second class citizens and so were women, people still feared that "commies" were hiding under the bed, discrimination, blacklisting, illegal searches, arrests without cause, trials without representation, coerced "confessions" were still accepted, the Kook Klutz Klan was a force to be reckoned with, lynchings still happened and a lot of other bad things were accepted as "the way things are."
All in all, I prefer today, where the son of an African immigrant can be elected to the presidency -- twice -- in the face of racism and ultra right wing "conservative" dogma and religious fanaticism.
Some to think of it, as Billy Joel said, "the good old days weren't always good, and tomorrow's not as bad as it seems." Now if we can just get the osteocephalic fossils in the Republican leadership in congress to either start helping or at least get out of the way of progress, America might make something of herself again.

Regan proved that deficits don't matter
It's a pity Reagan proved it by running up deficits that are still unpaid. It's an even greater shame that his Republican successors in the presidency -- and the vast flock of sheeple who vote for them -- still regard Reagan as an infallible Republican god; a role model for every other "conservative" to follow; including the deficit spending.
