You really think they give a lick about dead children in Connecticut? How many is our government responsible for killing on a daily basis around the globe?
Dummy.

Of course they do. You obviously don't.

Not real working guns...but something tells me this kid could figure out how to build a functioning firearm without much trouble.

Neither am I. Thankfully there is no constituional right to gun ownership.

The mags will probably hold up better and the tech will improve.
That said, current semi-auto rifles are not that difficult to convert to fully automatic and yet fully automatic conversions are hardly ever used in crime. It seems like the DIY hurdle is enough to dissuade just about everyone from making an illegal weapon.
As material science improves, so will DIY weapons. This is, of course you, if believe in the evolution of science. The first sword had to evolve from a simple sharpened stick to a fine Damascus, Scandinavian, or Japanese blade. Each evolution required changes in material science.
There are 3d printers that print in metal, but they have a few problems as of now.
Sure, and someday the bad guys will be like T-1000 in Terminator 2, and then what are you gonna do?
Five years ago 3d metal printers were non existent. Today they exist in two varieties: one sprays (prints) molten metal and the other sprays a powdered metal with an epoxy adhesive. Each has its own issues (problems), but in five years it grew from nothing to what it is today. What will it be in five more years?
The technology is now available to print semiconductors as well. While not developed to the 60nm scale, let alone the 15 and 22nm scale of many of today's electronics, I do not see it far off. Then again conventional semiconductor growth, due to a recent development of IBM, is going to approach the light spectrum, not to mention new and fast optical/semiconductor interfaces.
So what were you saying about T1 and T2? Or, were you just determined to show your ignorance?

Sorry, I forgot the "quote" button. This was in response to Minning Around's complaint about the squished page area.
Go to "my settings" at the top and turn off the tags, then increase the font size. I just use the "bigger" gesture on my macbook.

As it stands now, you can order an AR15 and a Glock a piece at a time and build yer own. I'm sure there are others that can be made this way as well. I do believe this is all that needs to be said. any arguments for or against are worthless. The mass killings have been done by people who are unhinged. They also were all premeditated. Ban all assault weapons and someone who want to go on a killing spree will just build their own gun. I'm sure it will happen sooner or later. Gun bans just do not work

Why would this be a nightmare for the gun control crowd? How many "law abiding" gun owners will be willing to break the law to get their high capacity mag fix?I suppose it depends upon how many feel an obligation to obey laws which violate their Constitutional rights.
I must have missed the part of the second amendment where it mentions high capacity magazines.
I must have missed the part of Amendment I which mentioned Internet porn.

"New York just made countless numbers of firearms in the state useless due to their ban of magazines over 7 rounds."
Why are they useless? I just can't carry with a full clip now. If I can't defend myself with 7 rounds then I need practice and not more bullets
