How many school shooting occurred in your county today?

Hard to believe isn't it...if you listened to our resident anti-gun nuts you'd think there was at least one shooting in almost every school every day. And whatever you do...don't go to a gun show...you might as well sign your own death certificate if you do.

I just noticed no one has their physical location listed. So I go to My Settings and find that my post should included Northern California, but they don't. Uh-hum...is this another failing of the new forum?
Lot's of room on the sides for nice blue graphics that mean nothing though.

Schools were closed here today… too cold. Very possible I’ll be off tomorrow, as well.
I’m wondering if this guns debate is every gonna end here, or at least stop dominating the whole forum.

I'm sure the grieving families of Sandy Hook will be able to draw some sort of comfort from that

Those anti-gun nuts can be so mean and cruel.

So what's the number you think we should get up to before we start talking about ways to reduce the number/size of the incidents?
Apparently you don't think the violence is yet bad enough to be worth much more than a shoulder-shrug and condolences-sent right now. How bad does it have to get before you want to do something about it?

I have no problem with doing something about it...but passing knee-jerk legislation banning 'assault' weapons and high capicity magazines won't do **bleep** to stop spree shootings like the one at Sandy Hook. You ever see how fast someone can change a magazine in a pistol? With just a minimum amount of pratice it can be done in a second or two. The Sandy Hook shooter could have easily caused as much carnage with a handgun and a few 9 round clips...those little kids weren't about to rush him when he paused for a second or two to change magazines. I much more favore the type of bill that is expected to pass in my state...

"could easily" "with practice"...yada yada. Yeah, with enough deterimination people CAN do anything. You're making a false assumption that all these guys have that sort of determination and intention. I'd say MOST of them DON'T.
Most are ignorant, lazy, chickensh*t punks who only do what is easy and convenient. Sandy Hook kid just grabbed Mama's guns and started shooting people. You don't have ANY EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that he would have used more clips if that's what it took. What if Mama didn't have any more clips? Would he have mailed ordered some first and waited a week to go shooting?
The idea is to reduce EASY access to these weapons. Of course it won't stop EVERY incident. But if it stops or reduces even SOME of them it's obviously worth it. Especially since I've been waiting weeks for any gun-fan here to give me a single valid example of why these sorts of guns give the law-abiding home-protector any greater advantage.
Still waiting. You wanna give it a try?

Adam Lanza and his mom often went to shooting ranges...he knew his way around firearms.

So what? What's that have to do with the fact he only used what was easily available to him?

Like I said...he could have easily done just as much carnage with a handgun and a few 9 round clips. It's not something that one needs to train a lot for. I have an AK 47...I've had it for years...I don't practice with it and at most I take it out once a year and fire off a couple hundred rounds for the fun of it. I can easily load a fresh magazine in a couple seconds...anyone can. Magazine capicity is a non-issue.

Today was Houston, Texas's turn for a school shooting. Tomorrow- who knows? Only gun owners I guess.
