So the new forum does not recognize my password for my "Red Ant" account which i've had for a dozen years. When I attempt to reset the password, it wants to send the reset email to an email address I have not had in 10 years. Any remedy for this, besides doing what I just did and creating a new acct? Thanks in advance ![]()

I still have my email account and had it send a rest link. I follow the link and try to put a new password in and it says to fix the highlighted errors but nothing is highlighted.
We aren't exactly off on the right foot with the new platform.

Craig posted in another thread:
"As to user names and post counts and all that, I can restore your original user name, which carries the original post count. If you two send me a PM with a current VALID email address (it's how you'll be notified) and your original user name, I can fix it. To send a PM, click on my user name and under Contact, there's the option to send a private message."

I see the Romansky Solution isn't working either. I'll send Anderton a message.

It's HC 2.0 all over again. ![]()
"Senators say they fear the N.R.A. and the gun lobby. But I think that fear must be nothing compared to the fear the first graders in Sandy Hook Elementary School felt as their lives ended in a hail of bullets. The fear that those children who survived the massacre must feel every time they remember their teachers stacking them into closets and bathrooms, whispering that they loved them, so that love would be the last thing the students heard if the gunman found them."- Gabrielle Giffords

This forum is usable...HC 2.0 wasn't.

It's far better than HC 2.0 and whatever software abortion it used, but it's no UBB. If UBB were a 10 and HC 2.0 were a 0, this is about a 7. Not abysmal, but there is a huge list of things that are going to throw people off.

Keep a current email address on file with HC.
One of the things that sucks about the internet is: keeping track of old email addresses, user names and passwords.
Then, after over ten years, lots of sites will require you to upgrade long-used user names and passwords with more letters and numerals for "enhanced security". Stuff that most people have long forgotten unless they have kept a written record of it somewhere.

the new software didn't send me the "reset your password" mail, despite my trying multiple times. so i got a new email acct to sign up as a new user, in order to notify craig.
that went ok, then somehow the new software changed how the new email address is listed, so i had to go into my new acct setting and reset that.
I have notified craig about both matters. i am glad the speed of posting is now is "up to speed", but the glitchiness of this new software is not exactly user friendly.

Yep. Too bad for them really. I think some of them would just as soon complain.
