Actor Seagal trains Arizona school “posse”
Controversial Maricopa, County, Ariz. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has imported action movie actor Steven Seagal to train, in hand-to-hand combat, members of the “posse” that he has assigned to provide armed protection at about 50 Phoenix-area schools.
The star of such movies at “Under Siege” and “Above the Law”, and his own reality show, told reporters: “I’ve put hundreds of thousands if not millions of hours into my weapons training.”
“Sheriff Joe” is known for his hard line on immigration, sweeps of Hispanic neighborhoods and for initiating his own “investigation” into the validity of President Obama’s birth certificate. “I want everyone to know that we’re going to be around those schools. and that if you do something, we will be armed, and we’re going into the schools to save our kids,” Arpaio told reporters.
But the local Phonenix CBS affiliate has run an investigative piece disclosing that members of Sheriff Joe’s “posse” include people with past criminal convictions for assault, drug possession, domestic violence, sex crimes involving children, disorderly conduct and — predictably — impersonating a police officer.
State Rep. Chad Campbell, Democratic leader in the Arizona Legislature, ridiculed use of Seagal.
“Steven Seagal is an actor,” Campbell said. “That’s it. Why don’t we also have Clint Eastwood, Chuck Norris and Bruce Willis come out and train them while we’re at it? He’s making a mockery out of it. You’re having a movie actor train people how to protect schools.”
Seagal worked over the weekend with 25 teenage volunteers on such tactics as room entry and hand-to-hand combat. “They (schoolchildren) are our most precious asset,” said the veteran actor. “They are our treasures and we have to protect them.”
The National Rifle Association has rejected federal and state proposals for gun violence legislation — even measures such as universal background checks that it has supported in the past — and instead has called for armed protection at every school in America.

As retarded as this is, Seagal is a legit martial artist. There's some pretty cool videos on YouTube of him, probably from the '70s by the look of it.

He cannot count but he really was a martial arts champion in Japan before he was an actor. Apparently abandoned a wife there, too. Shitty actor, but some cool movies. He went from a nobody to superstar with one movie--unheard of.

He's a fat old idiot who doesn't know how many hours are in a year. He shouldn't be training anybody for any reason. ![]()

The story of Steven Seagal accompanying Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s raid on an Arizona man suspected of cock-fighting seems almost humorous. Almost, that is, until you think about police driving into your own home with a tank and killing your dog, which is what happened when Seagal drove a tank into Jesus Llovera’s house.
Idiot.

Aikido is as useful in real life as a rape whistle.
