Yeah, that was the nadir in the live voting on Bing, by far. Even the Dem line went sharply negative.
i'll quote a line from Willie S.
There is a tide in the affairs of men. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; Omitted, all the voyage of their life. Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
the timing of the appeal for regulations of guns, in the wake of the recent spate of mass shootings not only makes political sense, but has a broad emotional appeal.
if that doesn't ring true for you, i can respect that. that so many cheered so loudly is evidence of its broad popular appeal, as the recent polling on background checks, banning large capacity magazines and military type weapons indicates.
there is indeed a tide in the affairs of men.

yeah, we all know what Ned means - we are all just at the point where we ignore the obvious with him and his fellow shit bag righties. Also, it's kinda funny to watch them thinking they are being clever with their covert racism.

"Senators say they fear the N.R.A. and the gun lobby. But I think that fear must be nothing compared to the fear the first graders in Sandy Hook Elementary School felt as their lives ended in a hail of bullets. The fear that those children who survived the massacre must feel every time they remember their teachers stacking them into closets and bathrooms, whispering that they loved them, so that love would be the last thing the students heard if the gunman found them."- Gabrielle Giffords

I've heard interviews with activists and educators who work in these communities (in the Bay Area and around the country). They say you go into these classrooms and ask the kids, 'how many of you know someone who's been murdered?' 90% of the kids raise their hands. You ask 'how many of you don't have fathers at home?' Same number of kids raise their hands.
There's violence and drugs -- it's on a level most of us can't imagine, and these kids are dealing with it daily. Putting aside the issue of how or why this is not really covered in the media, except sensationally, you do have to ask what Obama is actually going to do to deal with these issues for the so-called Obama Voter.
I will say one thing about the NRA -- they are correct in pointing out that guns don't fire themselves. But the issues leading to this large-scale tragedy going on all over the country in these communities are really complex, and I don't know that Obama's gonna do anything but make a nice speech about it...
And yeah, a LOT of the burden goes on the communities themselves. No way around that.
The prolem is, with guns guns guns everywhere, they're not only in our hands. They're in our heads, and that's why we need to do a little pruning.

perhaps you are just unfamiliar with the polling on gun regulation which i mentioned. most americans support tighter restrictions on the so-called gun show loophole, the sale of large capacity magazines, and military style weapons.
but don't just take my word for it, you can check for yourself. and this support by most americans creates a tide of political impetus.
this is what politicans respond to. they see which direction the crowd is heading, then race to the front and holler "follow me".
lol

I am well aware of the "polling" I am well aware that the 40% gunshow loophole is a bogus stat believed only by the willfully ignorant or the truly stupid. I am aware that the "polls" shown are taken shortly after a tragedy and further polling has shown that most of those supporting the "assault weapons" ban have been fooled into thinking it is a machine gun. (go go Josh Sugarman herd those sheep) Most, probably all of the statistics used by the anti crowd are intentionally misleading to cater to fools such as yourself. I am also aware that most of those that support bans don't feel as strongly about it as those that oppose them. I am aware that most independant voters either don't care or oppose bans, and I am aware that if the Dems up for re-election were as misguided as you are, we would see repubs gain more seats in 2014.
I am also aware that the crowd was loaded for the anti-gun crowd. I knew he would drum up Newton again. His parlour tricks work well on you, not so much for all.
I did btw, post a screen shot of public voting during the "gun" section. Doesn't look good.
Keep drinking the Koolaid.

I was just saying that the issue is a lot more complex than what mere gun control can touch. Sorry if that goes against whatever the current party line from whatever party nowadays. Wars on countries that never hurt us, drone attacks, kids gunning each other down in the hood. Take your pick.

i don't think of statistical sampling as parlor tricks, and i respect the right of gun supporters to think whatever they want. I am merely pointing out that most americans favor the common-sense restrictions which i mentioned earlier.
namely; closing the gun show loophole where private sales don't currently require a background check, the restriction of large capacity magaizes as well as the sale of military type weapons (as opposed to sporting weapons.)
i understand that their are some among gun-rights supporters who think that the natl govt = tyranny and somehow expect themselves and their militia homies to mount a successful rebellion against a modern mechanized army which has at their disposal the use of tanks and planes.
in my estimation, those folks may have watched Red Dawn a few too many times.
