Just to clear up some confusion...

Someone responded to my post, but included a link to something totally unrelated to music. I suspect the post was deleted once kkyle proclaimed that response to be spam.

As far as not being an applicable forum - I beg to differ. Clearly NAMM related - I don't think either amp is shipping yet. I wanted to know if anyone heard or played these amps at NAMM - is that so wrong? :idk:

Plus, I could have posted it on the amp forum, but everyone there seems to be seven stringers playing rectos. God forbid I bring up a modeling amp question...

Thanks for the links. I haven't been able to find a single video of the Vypry (edit: like the "Grand old Opry") on the web, because I think Peavey announced it at the Winter NAMM show, but were probably 50% done with it. I'm certain the Peavey will be about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the Vox. I've got a tab in my browser permanently parked on http://www.voxamps.co.uk/valvetronix/blackdiamond.asp# and I check it's product manual periodically so that when one exists, I'll know more about it's exact features. I think it's clear that Vox addressed a couple of key issues with the whole Tonelab / Valvetronix line: They added another pedal effects block ahead of the existing one, where you can select a wah or compression or pickup simulator (wish they would have included phasor/univibe here) before the the 2nd pedal effects block (distortions, etc.). Also 200 watts of SS stereo power into the 2x12 combo. Should address any volume issues. They have MIDI too, which surprises me, as I thought they would force you to buy their floorboard, as in the past. I think their concept for using a tube to simulate power amp grind is excellent. It'll be interesting to see if the effects loop placement in the processing chain is fixed. If it is, I certainly hope it's after the the tube. I think their Tonelab series was/is very good, but by packing the technology into a combo with 200 watts and Neo Dog speakers, they are fine tuning the whole thing and taking the option anxiety away from guitarists - it's all in one package - and I think if it's priced under $1200 street, they should have a hit on their hands.

You are right, the Peavey should be much less they will have several modles and the most expensive seems to be around $500 (as far as I can tell).

yeah, I'm interested in the 60 watt tube verion for $450, not bad at all.

The most expensive is the 120 watt tube version with 2 12" speakers for $650

the 100 watt solid state is $500.

I spoke with my salesman at Sweetwater today and he said that he expects to have them around August 1st. He responded to my email in less than 5 minutes. Talk about awesome customer service!

Ooops I forgot....that is what I can get it for (low level endorsment deal). Still $650 for a tube with emulation and 100W is nothing to frown at!

It is a bit of a drag that the 30 watt Peavey doesn't get the USB out.

I haven't seen this anywhere yet, so I doubt it but we will see. As far as I can tell it will be just for recording direct. Time will tell though.
