Here's a picture of the "Great Wall" of NAMM. What they did was dedicate the 200 row of booths to tiny, low-priced booths where just about everyone could afford to strut their stuff. If you're familiar with Winter NAMM, this was kind of the Nashville equivalent of Hall E.*And like Hall E, this is where you can find all kinds of cool little toys...as you'll see in some of the videos 06-23-2008 07:19 AM
Another view of the Great Wall. It reminds me a bit of shopping in Shanghai, where there are tons of teeny shops packed into a shopping zone. I kind of expected to see a booth selling fake Rolex watches and another selling counterfeit DVDs. -- Craig

The Chirp virtual keyboard from Tanager lets you use a QWERTY keyboard as a controller. I whipped out my Mastercard so I could use this on the plane ride back from Nashville, but they didn't have any copies for sale. -- Craig

Smart AV showed the Tango, a console/control surface with a huge touch screen. It's going to list for around $7500. -- Craig

You can work on an arrangement level from Tango's screen. -- Craig

AMT had a bunch of effects that are designed to work in the studio as well as onstage. -- Craig

Here's a closeup of one of the AMT tube-based effects. -- Craig

AMT also makes an AC adapter for effects that has gobs of current and several different types of voltage outputs. It was one of those "picked up the night before the show" products! -- Craig

Another AMT effect. I just happened to like the way this looked, so I couldn't resist a photo. And of course, there will be a video of all this stuff... -- Craig

At the sE Electronics booth, Bobby Cochran (son of Eddie Cochran, who wrote "Summertime Blues") was playing acoustic guitar into the sE GM10 acoustic guitar mic...which as you can see, clamps on to the guitar. Yes, you can move around while you're playing, no problem. There's a video that's already edited with Bobby demoing the GM10 at the sE booth. -- Craig

This is the Guitarmidor, which maintains a constant temperature and humidity. But man, it's pricey! You can see all the details on the video. -- Craig
