+1 I use 320kbps, running off my iPad
For gigging, I play them as higher quality MP3s from my iPad, but I originally create them in MIDI form using Reaper, Reason, and all sorts of other synth/sampler plugins, like VI-One, Garritan Big Band and Jazz, Steven Slate Drums, various Toontrack drums, etc. etc.

My lyric/backing tracks are set up through Powerpoint. It was originally insane to go that route because I had to set up about 175 tunes. But now it's great when I add a new tune. I paste the lyrics in, add a link to the backing track if there's one and I'm done.
It's pretty sweet live. I just hit F5 and the lyrics go full screen and the backing track begins. My programmer friend and I are writing a sick program that will be great for laptops. The one I saw the other day (PROPLAY) was like $250 and IMO, way overpriced.

Thanks Doezer...My acoustic is a Taylor 410CE. It's an old one so it's got the Fishman Prefix in it. That's really about it other than the fact that I run it through a Bose system. Although I'm pretty close to loving the sound it sounds just a little "brittle" for me but the guitar is fairly "new" to me so I'm still working out the kinks. I do know that I usually crank up the low end on and cut almost all of the mids on the onboard EQ.
hey there potts! i like your idea with the powerpoint!! having lyrics + tracks must be great... in factjust having powerpoint for lyrics would be great even without the tracks, but triggering the tracks as you call the lyrics up well thats just dandy one other thing. i went on your site. checked some of your live video out. nice stuff, nuice sound can i ask a straight question... how are you doing your acoustic sou8nd there. uis that just a standard pickup - it sounds really crisp when you pick the strings, especially thehigh ones. im trying to improve the acoustic quality of the sound on mine so would be interested to know other than that. best of luck with your stuff. the website looks great. d
