Setlist Exchange?

I'm always looking for good tunes regardless of genre. I've found the easiest way to do this is to exchange setlists. Any takers?

Cool list Darrell.

Mine leans more country, and could use an update.

Re: Setlist Exchange?

I LOVE 'On & on' [Stephen Bishop] - that line 'gonna toss up my heart and see where it lands' is FAB - U -LOUS.

Obviously our Duo set list is no good to you guitar guys, different songs work for Duo's and also the UK charts etc have songs that the US audiences won't know.

Do any of you guitar guys sing "Dance With Me" by Orleans? I love that song. I know it's meant to be a harmony song with more than one voice, but so are The Eagles songs.

Re: Setlist Exchange?

I don't do set lists, but prefer to call songs as my instincts and experience tells me what I hope the audience wants next. I watch the crowd, the dancers and the listeners, see what they are reacting to. Do they need another fast one? Or are they tired? Do they want a ballroom dance? Listening song? Comedy? Whatever? The way I run my backing tracks, I can make my decision during the last 10 seconds of the song I am playing and still get to the next song immediately if I need to (this is especially important when the dance floor is full).

But I do have an entire song list here http://www.s-cats.com

And if you are interested on how I run the backing tracks on stage http://www.nortonmusic.com/backing_tracks.html - also how I make them and more thoughts about set lists can be read or ignored on that page.

Pretty good, not the best, but depends on the crowd.

If you love the song, that right there is a great reason to add it. The more fun you are having, the more the audience will reflect that. I enjoy playing it too!

setlist, songlist, tomato, toMAto

I kinda do a combination of both. Using Sonar to play my tracks, I do have a setlist window, where with one tap of the spacebar, I can launch into the next tune after one finishes. But I can adjust the setlist on the fly by dragging and dropping the order when I have requests or when I think another song will work better at the moment.

All my songs are right there on a list so I can pick them, not wondering what to play next.

That is an impressive selection. I don't think many folks would have thought of most of those songs. Popular yet not driven into the ground (like what my group plays).
