Nikki, that recording is unlistenable. I can't even begin to hear your actual voice, let alone comment on it.

Hard to know for sure. But it is more likely a person who was discouraged by the sticky over in the vocal forum suggesting that people should participate by commenting on a few posts before posting a link to a sound clip asking for feedback on their vocal technique.

Once the sound wave is played the recording repeats and is listenable. Your voice has a folk music quality to it. You are a soprano, but a couple of notes were too high for you. Lower the key a little or even more than a litle if possible. You have talent, but I'm not sure if there is an audience for this.

Why does anyone ever ask? They never accept the criticism anyway.
OK ... I'll take the chance. Please grade my new song ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

people ask because they want affirmation. They want people to appreciate their artistic efforts.

wow, I see what you mean about it starting over....I really couldn't get through the front end until I knew there was something behind it.
okay, Nikki...biggest thing, aside from the key being a tad high (consider starting a whole step down; it would work better when you go after those sustenatos...) is your breathing technique....especially when singing a capella, take your breaths away from the mic, and measure how much you really need to inhale between breaths. This is something I had to learn early on, and now comes fairly naturally to me, but it makes a huge difference.
I would be interested to hearing you with some basic accompaniment.

I agree with daddymack and Bob.
You sound shrill trying to hit those high notes, and shrill is not a good thing.
So, lower the key so it doesn't sound like you are straining to reach the notes.
Then we will be able to hear the richer tones that are there in your voice.
Don't make the mistake many people make of trying to get the widest range and end up losing quality.
And yes, learn to breathe off mic.
Now let's hear you again.
Lower key and less ausible gasping for breath.
And maybe choose a song with a more popular appeal.
