I would never commision mastering jobs to a guy who presents himself as above.

Re: Mastering... Master your tracks for ANY format delivery, with ultimate sound.

These days, it's too easy to set up a page on Soundcloud.  If you want to get prod work, you gotta show clients what they will potentially be getting.  Put up some clips, otherwise you'll be hard pressed to get any takers.  Also, get to know the forum before you start chucking spam into the pan.

Mastering can be very demanding today in the era of everybody having a home studio,

just tell your clientele after you mastered the doo doo will sound better then Nirvana, Oasis, Blur, Pulp, The Verve, Foo Fighters, Tori Amos, an early 80ties Pink Floyd, U2, Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon or anything the client dreams of, most important and before all is, have them pay 100% in advance, or you have a second problem later.

Re: Mastering... Master your tracks for ANY format delivery, with ultimate sound.

JTM, it's cool, but most of the people who populate these forums are in the biz themselves(like myself), or are trying to learn how to do it themselves.  It's not really a venue for posting straight advertisement.  Especially when you have literally just joined HC a day ago.  Get to know the people in the forum, throw a bone, share some wisdom, help someone out who doesn't know as much as you, then you might get a better reaction when you start a new thread selling services.

... we have to throw a lot of money out the window to renovate and polish turd, new productions, not digitiizing tape vaults, because too many producers are not capable to deliver a perfect master

Re: Mastering... Master your tracks for ANY format delivery, with ultimate sound.

one of the classcal producers presented the brilliant idea to volume maximize, or compress the whole classic catalog, and make it a little brighter in the upper frequency spectra, so housewifes hears a ppp sting section passage form the hi-fi in the living room when the tea pot is whistling in the kitchen, I had to call the ambulance for me, but he want it that way, he said it will raise the sales

Re: Mastering... Master your tracks for ANY format delivery, with ultimate sound.

oh, he said also that we can sell classic to railway and subway companies, it will balst out of the station speaker as pop/rock - then I made him the re-mastering concept and three mastering studios do it, work on that nonsense since seven years
