First of all..when I feed the cats the smell of kitty tuna isnt quite the same as human. If you can get past that stink ...god bless! Buy some people tuna you cheap skate!

Re: is cat food ok to eat?

early day maybe not barnstormer pilots used to stuff pockets with tins of cat food in case they crashed before they had cellphones and gps, might be awhile before they were found, better tuna nowaday's.

I'd avoid pet food because of the possible bone frags

and i'd cook it 1st in case of basteria

I've been giving tinned cat food to my elderly Cairn Terrier as her teeth aren't able for the crunchy stuff. She's thriving on it and has turned from a staggering geriatric into a cranky old battleaxe. Believe it or not by Irish law cat food has to have added vitamins; dog food doesn't. It's anti-canine discrimination I say and there will be strongly worded letters written to the press regarding the matter.

What you may not know is that cats are true carnivores..Dogs are not.

Like humans dogs can get by without meat. Cats on the other hand need the additives to the cat food or they will not survive. Maybe this is what your laws are protecting the cats about. Just Sayin'

If it smells good to you, eat it, Kunac.

Canned cat food smells terrible, IMO. :smileysad:

The cats seem to like it, though. :idk:

I ate some dry cat food when I was a little kid. It was on a dare. It wasn't the best stuff in the world but it was better than my neighbor's gluten-free food.

Re: is cat food ok to eat?

Before my cat died I used to get her a few slices of underdone roast beef on my way home on a Friday. I would get in, cut the meat up with a pair of scissors and touch the cat (who was sleeping) on the nose with with my beef smelling fingers. You have never seen a cat wake up so fast.

I've seen a lot of TV ads recently for that IAMS dried catfood. I couldn't imagine a cat enjoying that shit, cats like proper food like fish and prawns, even canned catfood doesn't quite cut it.

Re: is cat food ok to eat?

There was a restaurant in town here years ago where the owner was caught putting cat food in the curry.
