America looks pretty cool, certainly better than the UK. In a dream situation I'd love to move to somewhere like Colorado. I could go skiing then!
Or I could always move to San Fransisco! ![]()

Just so you know, San Francisco doesn't have any more gay people than any other city. It's just that they're more tolerant of gays. And as time goes on, more and more areas have loosened up a bit, pun intended

I'd like to make a pilgrimage to Liverpool before I die and visit the birthplace of The Beatles.
I don't know if I want to live in England but at the very least, I'd like to have an extended vacation over there.

I saw a Canadian guy I know for the first time in 6 years last friday night.
In his opinion England was more dirty, had more crime and looked even more rundown since he was last here six years ago..
I had to agree with him ![]()

Seriously ...You might want to think about this. While I love my country we are having pretty hard times at the moment for typical folks. If you dont come here with a job waiting you may not find one at all.
At the moment it should also be said that the so called "New Immigrants", who are in great favor with the government at the moment, really refers to illegal Mexicans for the most part. You may not be welcome with the same open arms and expect the same favor. Also most of the favor refers to turning a blind eye to thier status...primary education for the children...some social programs and low paying jobs. Really...they are the new under class. You probably have a better life than they do already.
I have heard of programs offered to some who come here to open business but have no idea which people get that.
All I'm saying is look before you leap...The USA is very expensive and only shows promise of becoming an even more costly place to live.

you wouldnt like our food.ever had muttonbird stuffed with kina?what about hangi? or perhaps you would like our hogget served with swedes and turnips.we dont have spotted dick or toad in the hole or faggots.so i would think long and hard about whether you would really like it here.plus what would you do for work?all the best jobs have already been taken by foreigners.you might get a job a macdonalds if you had a work permit.also there is a serious housing shortage down here.you may end up living in the bush with natives and wild birds.also we have a lot of sheep, some of which can be quite agressive to people from other lands.might pay to look at norway.they have fiords i believe.
