There are 29 million cars parked on UK streets at any one time, and with the number of total vehicles predicted to increase by 4 million over the next 20 years, that figure is only set to rise further. According to the International Parking Institute, already $20 billion is grossed each year in parking revenues.

I would never deign to leave my beautiful Ford Mondeo on something so common as a street. I usually get Fanshaw, my butler, to drive it round and round until I'm ready to get back into it. He then obligingly climbs into the boot (called, for some strange reason, a "trunk" in America). I then drive us both home and should you think it strange that I make my butler travel in the boot let me tell you that he's damn handy at stopping the tomatoes and tins of beans from rolling out of the shopping bag when I try to run over passing pikeys.
