Peavey Electronics Corporation unveiled its new Elements electric guitar and bass strings. Elements include an extra high E string on guitar sets and are available in nickel and stainless steel versions.
Peavey Elements are custom wound for longer sustain, punch and intonation, according to Peavey. Elements also feature new insert artwork which, as a bonus to musicians, doubles as a crack-and-peel sticker (guitar versions only).
Nickel Elements for guitar come in a variety of gauges, including .008, .009, .009+, .010 and .011, to accommodate discerning tastes. The 9+ nickels feature heavier-gauge low E, A, and D strings. Stainless steel Elements for guitar are available in .008, .009, .010 light, .010 and .011 gauges. The 10-light sets feature lighter-gauge low E, A and D strings.
Elements for bass are available for four-, five- and six-string basses in .040, .045 and .050 gauges for both nickel and stainless steel. The latter also offers extra long strings in all three gauges. Peavey also offers Cirrus bass strings, which come standard on Cirrus basses and feature a special thermal-fused coating, for four-, five- and six-string basses.
For acoustic guitars, Peavey Mississippi Mellows are available in phosphor bronze for gauges .010, .011, .012, .013, and for 12-string guitars. To achieve a brighter tone, 80/20 brass-wound versions come in .010, .011, .012 and .013.
Elements electric guitar and bass strings will be available Q3 2004 from authorized Peavey retailers. Mississippi Mellows and 80/20 brass-wound strings, as well as Cirrus bass strings, are available now.
