Cakewalk today announced a maintenance release for the SONAR audio production environment on the Windows platform. The free SONAR 4.0.1 maintenance release for both SONAR 4 Producer Edition and SONAR 4 Studio Edition, will be available for download to registered SONAR 4 users.
The SONAR 4.0.1 maintenance release provides a number of feature enhancements and updates which include Prosoniq's MPEX3 superior time scaling algorithm, the update to MPEX2 which was not available in time for the initial SONAR 4 launch, and new Yamaha OPT Level 1 support extensions, allowing for bi-directional communication; OPT Editors now automatically read the state of gear via a Sysx bulk dump, improving the Motif and 01X user experience. The update also addresses a number of minor bugs discovered after SONAR 4 began shipping.
Availability
The SONAR 4.0.1 maintenance release will be available in the next few days. Registered SONAR 4 users can download the SONAR 4.0.1 maintenance release for free at www.cakewalk.com. SONAR 4 Producer Edition has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $959 U.S. (MSRP); SONAR 4 Studio Edition is $479 U.S. (MSRP).
