Emancipator and Eliot Lipp, two of the most exciting producers in the electronic music scene, will perform at Chicago’s newest venue, The Mid, on Friday, March 4th. This edition of “Mayhem” is brought to you by React Presents and is hosted by Cody Meltzer.
Emancipator, fresh to the scene, played his first live show in July 2009, opening for Bonobo at New York’s famed Roseland Theater. Since then, he's toured with Bassnectar, and drawn crowds at festivals like Trinumeral and Symbiosis. Things have been moving quickly for the young deejay since he self-released his first album at the age of 19, “Soon It Will Be Cold Enough,” in 2006. His latest release, "Safe In The Steep Cliffs" blends new instrumentation and organic samples with the signature Emancipator style of clean production, silky melodies and addictive drums. Dance to it, chill out to it – this album crosses all genres and emotions.
Fellow prodigy Eliot Lipp began his exploration in electronic music at a young age. He moved to San Francisco in 1998 when he turned 18, where he was influenced by the eclectic music scene of the city. He was also spending time in Chicago, where he was schooled in electronic music. Along with his various side projects, live band, and relentless touring which has made him a fan favorite. Lipp's latest album "Peace Love Weed 3d" covers a lot of ground in ten songs. The record's style varies quite a bit throughout; exploring his signature instrumental electro-funk, fusion, and italo disco, and hip-hop inspired sounds.
Emancipator and Lipp will be joined by The Flashblub and Lobounce . Tickets are only available at www.clubtix.com, with presale prices at just $10, or call 312.265.3990 to reserve a table for this event.
