Drum Workshop's New Aluminum Shell Snare Drum

by HCNews on ‎07-21-2000 12:00 AM

Drum Workshop has announced the introduction of two new aluminum shell models to their Collector’s Series(TM) snare drum collection. According to DW’s master drum designer, John Good, the new 5x13" and 5x14" heavy-gauge, extruded aluminum drums have a bright yet noticeably coarser and drier tone than any other types of metal drums currently available; making them ideal for studio and live drumming situations. The drums feature a brushed satin finish and come standard with True-Pitch(TM) tuning, DW custom snare wires, throw-off and drumheads. The suggested retail price of each drum is $1095.00.

"Our specially developed, thicker aluminum shell offers the power and sensitivity of metal with a truly unique tonal character that’s everything you’ve ever wanted in a snare drum, and more," says Good.

In a related development, Drum Workshop has discontinued the 4 and 6.5x14" versions of their Collector’s™ Bronze snare drums but added a new 5x13" to the popular 5x14" Bronze model.
