J. D’Addario & Company, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of musical instrument strings, has introduced an interactive CD-ROM titled The D’Addario Advantage. The CD-ROM is the next best thing to visiting the D’Addario factory firsthand, and will provide dealers and consumers alike with a better understanding of D’Addario’s long history, extensive product lines and the science of stringmaking.
The D’Addario Advantage can be used by dealers as an in-store demonstration or by consumers who are just curious about the stringmaking process. The CD-ROM allows users to take a virtual tour of D’Addario’s facilities, from design to shipping, with video and narration, and includes a full D’Addario catalog with sound clips of many different strings for both fretted and bowed instruments. The D’Addario Advantage also features interviews with Lenny Kravitz, John Patitucci, Al Di Meola, Mark O’Connor and Ben Verdery.
