Check out this sub plate amp. Designer is the former head Engineer from QSC, and also from Reinkus Heinz.
This thing has been tested to run down to 1.5ohms with no heat and no issues.
I like the idea of plate amps in subs.

Very nice amps. Been out for awhile. Good review here.

I almost bought one for a pair of 8 ohms subs but instead I made some home brew powered subs with a pair of these. All in all they work good for 700 watts at 8 ohms.

Glad those QSC units are still available, I am not sure if that 700watts is rms or program.

Amplifiers are not rated "program" ... speakers are.

Ok peak, whatever .http://www.meyersound.com/support/papers/amp_power
@ 8 ohms? 4ohms? 2ohms?
@ 20hz or 1000K? The data pdf did not get too detailed, QSC makes good stuff but sometimes stretches the figures (K-Series).
