I know that I have discussed this in several threads but thought I would provide a visual example of this as I am finishing up maintenance on one of my own scalable systems. They are used in anything from 3 over 3 per side on top of subs to flying a distributed system around an arena, to a bunch of high quality speaker on sticks depending on need. All are 10" x 2 way with ATM Flyware and speaker butt plugs on every cabinet. It was a cabinet I designed 17 years ago as a tourable installation type product for conference and convention work as well as live theatre. These cabinets earn a good living every year and have required almost nothing in repairs over the 15 years. Plenty of life left in them so they will continue to earn money without ongoing costs.

Andy, it just proves new is not always better. Having decent gear will always make money, where as crappy gear will always be crappy.

They are relaiively light weight, sprayed 2 part epoxy finish, 16 ohm so they can be powered in multiples with a larger amp. I put 6 to 8 per side on a PLX-3402, they are a 150 watt RMS rated box with ~100dB/1W/1M. High passed typically at between 80 and 100Hz depending on the application.

Those look nice. Those are 150 watt RMS boxes - with 10" woofers and some sort of horn? You just add "more" and some amps - for what you need? I actually wish they were "powered" - (maybe) Looks good. Probably not very heavy for carrying either - which my back already says "thank you" for - just looking at them. Um yea - what was that butt plug refrence?

Just wondering what the heck he's talking about. It was only earlier today that I even had a plausible guess
. I've also seen cabs with a jack on the bottom so you can run the wire straight down instead of with that 90 degree stress point we all know and hate
.

Approx 90 x 60. The horn patterns are relatively uniform and combine with minimal unobtrusive comb filtering effect. Not an issue in practice. The boxes are only 12" wide which helps. How much do they weigh?
About 32 lbs

It was a commercial/install product that I designed for Genz Benz.

Anybody else notice how eager Andy has been to answer any of the questions relating to the physical characteristics of the cabs, yet he lets the "butt plug" questions just sit there and simmer? It seems to me that he's getting quite a giggle out of that one. ![]()
