A light fell on a kid during his high school wrestling match... thank God he wasn't seriously hurt, but it serves as a reminder to all the DIY'ers out there as to why you shouldn't mess with putting heavy stuff over peoples heads.
I'd be willing to bet money that someone thought it would be absolutely awesome to have this custom spotlight for the matches... couple of ropes, maybe a chain or two, and it'll all work great! /sarcasm

Yeah, if that kid was standing up when that light fell, there's a very good chance that would have had a completely different outcome.

The way it fell down "flat" implies that it had a single rope/chain/cable holding it. It's particularly interesting that it continued to be powered after it fell - they couldn't have planned it better as a "stunt" if they tried. Does anyone know if that place is Union? I would guess so but can't inagine a Union rigger being that lax.

The title of the video is:
"Madison Square Garden Epic Fail! light falls on wrestler"
but I see another copy that says it's "Madison High School".
