ixers/01v96i/ Yes it cost more but it's from a comapny that has long histroy of making reliable products unlike Behringer that has long history of making unreliable products.
Just my penny's worth of thought
Yamaha still missed what the 01v96 has always lacked.....16 real XLR inputs!
True but Yamaha has something Behringer will probably never have a great track record of reliability.
What good is mega ton of features on a product that is crap shoot on reliability.
The OP is wanting a mixer for a home studio application and IMO it's great starting piece that's expandable when budget allows and be used live if need be.
I'd rather spend more for reliability then more bells and whistles

Hi Joe,
Thanks for contributing to the HC forums!
I was a little disappointed in the new models. I was hoping that the 16 channel version of the X32 would simply be a smaller version of the X32 vs an iPad interface/virtual control surface.
As for features, I would personally like to see integrated wireless with an Android app that can be used as an IEM monitor for band members. An integrated cross-over might be nice too.

Hello Joe,
What is Behringer doing to address all the issues with the currently in production X32? Seems to many of us, that Behringer is still "all-talk" with the fancy new manufacturing facilities etc. There have been far too many reports of failures involving your X32 product for those of us who take reliability very seriously, to really consider the product a contender for purchase.
You probably already know about the thread on SoundForums .net that details a list of common issues and tests to perform on the units upon unboxing. Even a report of a user having to return X32's four times before finally getting one that works without issue. That alone makes many of us think "Yep, same old Behringer."
I hope you read this as being constructive and not as an attack on your products... just re-posting info and claims made from other users of the product.

Hi,
I hope I can address you concerns.
Any issues that have been found in regards to the X32 have been taken care of immediately. The numbers I am quoting are very real. 22,000 units for any manufacturer are big numbers for the initial release of a digital mixing console. With this type of roll out occasionally things can happen, sometimes outside our control such as shipping mishaps. Any issues we have had have been extremely rare and taken care of quickly.
Our Las Vegas Care facility is second to none. You can email our head X32 tech Chase McKnight at chase.mcknight@music-group.com
If you are in Las Vegas give Chase a call to see our state-of-the-art facility, I know you will be impressed.
With a sophisticated product such as the X32, often user error is more common than an actual defect. We have Product Specialist around the globe that answer forum questions, take calls and emails to help with operational questions, as well as help with specific installation questions. If you email me your location I can put you in direct contact with a Product Specialist in your area. Our team is here to help and ensure end users get the most from an X32 purchase. If you send me an email or a PM, I will even send you my cell phone number to discuss any concerns you have in regards to X32 products. joesanborn@music-group.com
If you follow any of the forums you will see that we are actively listening to our customers and rapidly releasing firmware upgrades and quickly improved our XiControl iPad app and XControl software.
Please understand that we take every sale very seriously. The figures I quote of 20 million dollars have resulted in vast improvement in our manufacturing, resulting in a high quality product.

ANSWER: Actually our new models are exactly what I think you are looking for: a smaller version of the X32. The X32 Compact and the X32 Producer are basically 16 x 8 versions of the X32. I think what you are referring to is our iX16 which is another option.

ANSWER: All X32 products have an Ethernet jack to simply connect an inexpensive wireless hub. This gives you complete wireless access to the X32 via our XiControl iPad app. We also have an iPhone app for individual musicians to adjust mixes.
With a recent firmware upgrade we also incorporated crossover functions directly in all X32 products.
I hope it helps.

Am I correct in assuming that i could remote control with a windows laptop (wirelessly) as well?

Even at the old full price, my 24.4.2 paid for itself almost 6 times over last year. Pretty good R.O.I. If you ask me. I've been remote mixing via iPad and multitrack recording for almost 2 years now.
It's definitely earned its keep, and will definitely be sticking around.
I think my Yamaha has returned maybe 20 or 30x over 15 years and hasn't even once required an operating system update or bug fix...![]()

Joe,
Thank you for your response!
You have my attention
. What is the MAP for the producer? Can the iPod Touch be used as an IEM remote receiver in addition to configuring the IEM mix?

From the same question asked and answered on similar mixer/iDevice setups my understanding is that the latency would be WAY too big
. Maybe iOS 7 will support low latency wireless audio
?

Ahhh...
So the iPod Touch can be used as a mini control surface, but the IEM system must still be in place and plugged into the appropriate auxes on the mixer then.
Thanks.

Dear HCRobe,
Yes you can use the XControl PC, Mac and Linux application to remotely control the X32 wirelessly.
This is in addition to our XiControl iPad app.
We also offer our XiQ iPhone/iPod Touch app for controlling mixes from stage.

Dear OneEng,
The X32 Producer has a US MAP of $1999.
In regards to IEM, you would need to plug a Bus Ouput into an IEM transmitter. The XControl PC, Mac and Linux app as well as our XiControl iPad app and our XiQ iPhone and iPad Tourch app, all can then control the levels of this mix feeding your IEM system.
