Shure has a ten dollar parts order minimum and they sell the part for $0.93. If anyone has one ill gladly send them a few bucks. Two online retailers sell them but with shipping it would end up near $10 anyway. Need the set screw as well.

It's the standard insert from a Switchcraft A3M connector. I have plenty in stock but the shipping is the killer.

If you have any old switchcraft A3M's hanging around (you know that old broken mic cable you didn't get around to fixing). It MUST ba a switchcraft - but the insert is the same part. You can salvage one from that old cable and fix your mic. The question is how did it get broken? those things are pretty indestructable.

Thanks for the info. It's not broken as much as the set screw was stripped out by someone previously. They probably didn't know it was reversed thread or something. End result is the connector doesn't stay put in the housing.

Interesting idea but FWIW I'm not sure the transformer is a true isolation transformer and I'm pretty sure it maxes out at mic level (I think a line level signal would saturate it badly). You might want to look into it before investing any time in that project.
