Recently picked up four AT 3000 series wireless units. One of the bodypacks was missing the belt clip. I contacted AT to see what a replacement would cost, they're sending one to me free of charge.

Were they used - sounds like it. If so that's good stuff.

Carrying an LS608 down the stairs, a woman says to me "can you call me a cab, I'm not having any luck" ... got to stop dressing like a doorman.

Yes they were used but AT didn't even ask about that. Just volunteered a free replacement.
