Watched them both again, i have been secretly stalking these fixtures for a while now waiting for a hands on review before i bought a pair to compliment my 4 play for something diffrent, and to have something for a few DJ gigs that i manage to have to do from time to time.

I bought a set of four about two months ago...
Great bang for the buck ($89 each)...
I learned they do not play well with others...
If you power them up LAST they will dirty the DMX signal for about 8 seconds...
Also, during my last setup after I had about 27 fixtures installed, they would corrupt my signal as well...
I had to remove them ALL from the daisy chain... Yes, I have a terminator too... But as soon as I placed one in the chain (anywhere), forget about it... My other lights of various makes/models started to freak out...
I hope to get them back into service soon now that I pulled out 8 fixtures...

I may have to pick a couple up. I used to have the standard size Kinta's, and they were good. Had to sell them though. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I may pick them up for some basic FX until I can get a decent set of moving heads.

I really like the Looks of them in the Pink Floyd Medley. I wonder where i have a low number of fixtures if they would cause a problem still...I was considering putting them on the sides of the truss pointing down on the band for big impact moments and such. I might have to gamble on one down the road here.

Thanks Bill! I had seen that on all the outlets when i had thought about snatching a couple. Budget wise my "boss" tells me i have to wait, and a happy wife is a happy life So any luck when im ready to buy they will be back in stock.

Put your order in now, it shouldn't cost you anything. At least it allows your dealer to submit a PO that "holds" units from the next shipment.

Another DJ-style effect to consider (for bands as well, not just for DJs) that costs more but definitely gives you more of an effect is the Chauvet Swarm 4. I saw the original Swarm (RGB/Tri-LED) in action when it first came out in a haze-filled room, and it is definitely one of the higher-energy effects out there. And with an RGBA LED arrangement you can get really nice sharp colors out of it (it's not really color mixing, since each color of beams is independent). Checkout this video. Think about the possibilities if you put one of these about 3' up on a small stand or on a case right behind the drummer/drum kit shooting through both. The one thing that I really like about this fixture over some others is that this can do continuous rotation - CW or CCW, it doesn't have to bounce back & forth. They can also rotate very very slowly.

That was what i was concidering the mini kintas for to shine down and through my drummer. i might just have to check out the swarm 4 too. As if my G.A.S symptoms were not bad enough
