Re: The new King Korg

I see Korg, no king. Minus is only two timbres, makes MIDI sequencing and even live playing not so nice. Radias had four timbres, why is this doubly downgraded instead of upgraded?

Re: The new King Korg

this is really intersting. i love the big emphasis on efx and the full knob selection, really looks like you can access most everything from the panel. with the layout as is i think it would truly be a beast for pads and ambient stuff, especially with some good bandpass filter models. korg has never really offered interchangable virtual "models" of filters in anything outside their workstation line. this appears to take a nod from the vsynth in that regard, and was one of my favorite parts about the vsynth. really anxious to hear how it sounds, and especially see the price!

also c/v out +a clock out, phantastic

Re: The new King Korg

It looks interesting. I'd rather have twice as much knobbage, though.

The genre patch select buttons make it seem rather like a Mini-Korg and amateurish.

Re: The new King Korg

A++ best demo ever. really goofy and (dare i say?) sloppy performance, but thats why i enjoyed it so much. extra points for the japanese Ken Macbeth at the helm of the King.

what can be gleaned from this demo? for one thing, we know that the cutoff knob really doesnt audibly step at all! small thing i know, but even modern products suffer from stepping. hopefully the resolution extends to all the controls, not just the big boys.

theyve decided to include an m1 piano in the PCM bank i see! that will at last let me do that cover of the Aculpolco Heat theme song ive been putting off...

Re: The new King Korg

Sounds good. Value about 500$. Your cost, as close to 2000$ as they can get?

That guy working the knob reminds me that perf synths need redundant left right controls.
