OT: The Photography Thread

Share your work, knowledge, tricks, tips, etc: the weird, the unexpected, the interesting, and anything you like to share that is related to photography or videography.
__________________________

Just like with music: you try different things and something interesting comes out sometimes.

In this case, I wanted to know whether the point of focus of a reflected object is the object itself or the reflective surrface it's projected on. So I focused on the object [lamp in my little room] and look what happened. It's as if the lamp is protruding out of the display of my VCR [3D effect]!

Not related: a few shots. Among other things, this is what my pics will look like if/when I ever sell something on eBay

Re: OT: The Photography Thread

No, I just shoot photos at a great distance with the zoom.
I'd love to be able to do stuff like that, but if you did it in the UK they'd try to arrest you as a terorist or a paedophile if there were any kids in it Everything here has got so paranoid

I think that's bound to happen here too sooner or later. Like always it's going to take a few high profile incidents and it'll all change.

I have no doubts about KWs intents for the record.

I dropped my flickr account because of the number of kids (obvious CP esque material) that are posted there and the posters have this sort of "hey I know you use it for porn, but I have the right to free speech too, so don't get me in trouble" sort of attitude and that just creeps me out. It makes me think to the of the one creepy guy walking around the beach with a telephoto lens.

No offense KW..

But anyway I moved onto picasa at google and most of the people on there are from europe and the pictures are fantastic.. I'll have to upload some of my artsy ones and post them here

Re: OT: The Photography Thread

I'm not even really a photo hobbyest, but some things I do is always shoot pics and video on "VIVID" color modes... yeah yeah I know, but is anything we do ever REAL? And been messing with HDR (LDR?) photos which I think are really cool for so many reasons. it brings out so much more detail that is usually lost in digital photos - more of what the eye really sees that got lost in dark or washed out parts of pictures. Bought the Canon S90

Re: OT: The Photography Thread

Great thread! I love photography (I even took photography at university and want to pick it up again) and there's some really nice stuff posted here already. What a creative community this really is. Hasn't Carbon111 even written a book about this subject?

What a ridiculous thing to say. You must have an agenda.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with those pictures.

That's from that free program I posted. Also, PICASA works well to enhance and/or correct picture tones. Even its one button AUTOFIX works great most of the time.

Thanks for the tip! Picasa does a great job of enhancing indeed!
