"Come here little JD-800, come eat your cat chow." Naah, I'll just stick with "Fluffy". :smileyvery-happy:

Re: OT: Naming a cat after a synthesizer

It has been said that cats love the warm sound of analog equipment.

Anna Log

And she will have a middle name too

Re: OT: Naming a cat after a synthesizer

You could also use rearranged letters of synth names [anagrams].

For example, if you're a Yamaha guy: Amahay, Ahamay, Mayaha

Roland: Rodlan, Drolan, Orland, Darlon [sounds like Darling]

Alesis: Sislea, Sealis

Korg: doesn't work/rough sounding/applies to male cats only/consult with McHale

Nord: doesn't work either/consult with Sweden

Casio: Sioca

Moog: Mogo, Gomo, Goom

Akai: Aika

You could name it HACK! Now, there's a name that is relevant to both cats and musicians! :smileywink:

Re: OT: Naming a cat after a synthesizer

I thought you might like an update on my cat-naming adventure. It looked at first that the cat wasn't going to be able to stay with us because she was constantly hiding all day in the craziest and most dangerous places. But after a few days she calmed down and has turned out to be a real mush ball.

So we're keeping her. I want to thank everybody for their helpful naming suggestions. And now, without further ado, let me present to you Miss Fizmo Putney:

Prophet 08 / Odyssey / Juno-60 / CS-30 / Korg 01W / FS1R / TR-606 / RY30 / Ensoniq DP4+ /// Sonar

"Vics" . . . very clever! But I don't dare use that name aloud around the house. My wife is already at wit's end with my synth life. I don't think she could handle me explaining that to her. And yes, we call her Fizzy all the time.
