Re: NAMM 2013

nice one plink !!1

i think manufacturers just release stuff whenever nao

i'm guessing since the inmusic m-audio acquisition there's be more m-audio but also akai, numark, alesis, etc gear. a new venom with some of the alesis know-how would be cool

i'm sure there's gonna be an onslaught of 'lightning' ipad/iphone peripherals, apps, etc

Re: NAMM 2013

Access Music will finally retire the Virus line of synths and will come out with a new synth line called:

The Plague - It will include everything from the Virus line and add the addition of all Analog Oscillators and Filters, User Samples, Additive Synthesis, Programmable Sequencer.

To be followed in the future with a special edition paint job version for the Black Plague model.

A small desktop version is also planned called the Bacteria

They will set a new precedent with a preset count of 200,000 presets and will include every preset ever known to mankind.

It could happen ...
Confusion will be my epitaph ...

Stuff ... Moog Voyager Electric Blue w/CP-251 and VX-351,Elektron Octatrack, Machinedrum, MonoMachine, Analog4, Slim Phatty, Virus Ti Desktop, Arturia Minibrute, Strymon Timeline, Mobius, Moog Freqbox, Ring Mod, Midi Murf

Re: NAMM 2013

Oberheim Son-of-a-bitchin' 8-Voice?
Speaking of Way Out Ware and the 2600 iPad app, how about a 2500 VST from those guys. I think they should recreate the entire ARP catalog (with iPad version in addition to the VST's)
NI Komplete 9 price drop to $199 for Ultimate
Steinberg to either quit upgrading Cubase (outside of bug fixes) or quit charging us for them ...
Roger Linn making a VST version of the LinnDrum
A VST version of the Synclavier by New England Digital
Roland V-Drum Kit (just as a controller - no brain) for inputting drum tracks from real drummers
Dave Smith Prophet 8 or 10 (hard or soft)
Muse to lower prices on Receptor VIP to $1000 and MuseBox to $500
Someone to take the Open Labs Sound Slate model and run with it ...

:: Korg Kronos 61
:: Yamaha Motif ES6 (w/VH, DX, VL, AN, mLAN, & 01x)
:: Korg M3-73 Xpanded (w/Radias board & RAM exp)
:: Behringer B212A Powered Speakers
:: Variax 300 Sunburst & PODx3 Live!
:: Epiphone Acoustic Guitar & Mandolin
:: Steinberg Cubase 5
:: Omnisphere & Way Too Many Other Assorted VST's

For the first month after it's release they should price it at $40,000 for the nostalgia and just to piss people off.

Re: NAMM 2013

My predictions:
• InMusic (Akai, M-Audio, Alesis, Numark, etc.) will have a booth twice as big as Avid's
• PreSonus will have two booths across from each other
• Spectrasonics won't have their own booth again this year, but will be represented by ILIO
• Kurzweil will be shown with Novation, Focusrite, and Nord
• Infinite Response and their brilliant VAX-77 controller won't be there :'(
• Roland is out of the arena and will end up on the third floor in a much smaller space

I cheated.

That was an odd divorce IMO. I know ProTools is a solid bit of software, but why sell off everything else?

• PreSonus will have two booths across from each other
I guess they really want their presence felt. Nice stuff.

• Kurzweil will be shown with Novation, Focusrite, and Nord
That's gonna be crowded - not to mention cacophonous.

• Roland is out of the arena and will end up on the third floor in a much smaller space
I'm guessing that they've got nothing new then. I like the Integra-7. Hope to be able to afford one someday.

PREDICTION FOR NAMM 2013:

No one will come out with any physical instrument products anymore. Everything in our part of the hall will be an iPad app.

Re: NAMM 2013

I predict a lot of prediction threads followed by a lot of threads bitching that all the companies are stupid for not having made what was in the prediction threads or bitching because the made it, but it doesn't cost $75.

I am 100% certain of the above.

Interesting. Moog and Korg polysynths?

I got a badge so I will be there in person to check it all out this year! If anyone wants me to look for or test anything specific just mention it here! :-)

Re: NAMM 2013

Lets hope the price is in Argentinian Currency as it says:

Precio: $ 9,127.30

Which would be 1861.15 USD if so

''arriving February''

I just found on another page, with analog Korg stuff but also the R3 so they may mean VA not RA.. The grill maybe for valve force rather than RA cooling. Can't wait ;-)

Re: NAMM 2013

And another from the same site...

MS-20 monophonic synthesizer MINI 37 Mini Keys

arriving
April

The MS 20 is Precio: $ 4,522.00 once again if local currency that would be 922.29 US Dollars

Now that does look like the old legacy controller for the software but an led is in a different place, here is a pic of the legacy:

Bi-timbral sounds better than mono-timbral, but still, too little for anything labeled "King" in 2012. Looks like suited for live playing rather than for multitimbral composing. Just an early conclusion and my 0,02$.
