Fun composition, what I would do differently.. In most parts of the track the kick sound does not go well with the rest of the production. It's overly bassy with a large volume, I feel it kinda slows the track down. I'd choose a punchier sounds. In fact you can try and have more than one kicks in the track and switch them according to the rest of the mix and track character.
Next thing I'd do is spread the instruments more around the stereo field, some feel like they are in the same spot. Use more reverb. Just a tad more.
Lastly, the composition needs some room to breath, it's almost a neverending race, make some pauses, let the listener get away from the riffs for a moment or two before you trigger them again.
Thanks very much for the feedback!
The problems with the mixing may be down to the fact I used HD-215 headphones to mix it. They're probably lacking in the bass department, so I can imagine I over compensated during the mixing process. Unfortunately I don't own any nice monitors.
I was going for something entirely melody based, which why the riffs are constant all the way through the track, though listening to it again with your comments in mind, I can see that there is no light and shade to it. I'll try and fragment it a bit, and generally quieten it down.
I shall go back and work on it!
