Re: Let's hear it!!!! Post your music here...

thanks ChristianRock and Purity_Control for the feedback. The choir sample isn't very natural (from Sampletank free) so I had to add some reverb to it. And yes I do realize that I overcompressed the track so it loses dynamics. Creating musical themes is one of my stronger points as a composer, but I am fairly new to composing on DAW, so I will be more aware of details in future compositions.

Purity Control: 'Big Plans for My Future is funny, warped & brilliant. Dr. Wu, I like your production a lot too. My tribute to George Duning, the Doors & Duane Eddy. Sketch for a Movie Theme You hear a Korg M3, Kawai K1 string pad & a Vietnamese arch-top guitar plugged in.

Try a colder reverb if you have one, and maybe eq it up around 8-10k for definition.

Listen to my entire new album One And Only

Ladies and gentlemen,

I am proud to present my latest album, One And Only. Below you'll find a link to the listening party, in which the full album via streaming playlist is available for you guys to listen to. It will be up for a week, so listen to it while you can!

This album is again an excellent showcase of what the Yamaha Motif XS/XF is capable of. The entire album was fully composed, arranged, and performed solely on the Yamaha Motif XS 8. No other software or hardware synths were used. The entire album was then mixed, balanced, and mastered on Sonar Cakewalk 8 using iZotope 4 in my studio (at home).

I would like to take the time (and space here) to thank those who have made this possible for me. The Lord himself, and all the favors he has bestowed upon me to make this music possible; my family for always believing in me and pushing me forward; Yamaha for making the outstanding instruments that I use; my fellow members of the Motifator forums; my fellow members of the ardforums, who unbeknownst and totally unexpected by me became some of my most loyal fans; and finally, to all of you, my fans worldwide, who gave your time to listen my music, and to allow it to affect your lives in the way that it has. And for the one who has given me this inspiration, this gift, a reason to be; I dedicate this album to you.

Thanks for always listening, and I appreciate any and all feedback. Enjoy!

thanks mate i love the microwave. don't get to use it often, but this project was a perfect fit.

yeah vintages can be made to sound "modern". compared to it's age, i think the notes we play, the way we process the sounds, spacing etc, and the whole production context, have equal or bigger impact on whether a synth sounds retro or modern, within a track.

Re: Let's hear it!!!! Post your music here...

I'm not that good at playing, the mixing isn't professionally done and the songs are completely unmastered... But anyway! Here are a few things I've been tinkering with lately.

Gear:
Bass <0:25 - DSI Mopho

Main sample - "Little Princess" by A Forest Mighty Black
