Pretty stoked. Starting to dig into it a bit. The synths are extremely well behaved, very smooth. Real pro sound to it. Very exciting to have intirating analog engines with these sequencers.

Smooth? I have yet to get a smooth bass out of mine. I'm putting it under the scope and spectrograph tomorrow.

HAHA you want pics? It looks the same as all the other ones!
But here's a clip of me messing around with a pattern i made. I'm obviously not good at playing these key buttons yet, so it's sloppy as shit at parts, but you get the idea:

Hi, Happy to hear that you love your new gear. May I know does it come with a vst editor like Virus TI? As the screen on the A4 is so tiny, I just wonder if it comes with an editor?

No. There is no VST editor. The screen is small but very clear. you really don't need any editor.
Even if an editor is in the works, they still have some issues to fix before that should happen.

What issues do you think they need to figure out?
I'd love an editor.

The Sysex dump and recieve features still have some bugs in relation to their C6 utility. Dumps and receives are not consistant and cause data fragments to be loaded as well as lockups of the A4.
I'm sure their working on it but bear that in mind when you go to back up your A4 data. there's more but I have yet to experience them and the filter "warmup" time is something I just contribute to this instrument being an analog machine. (Warm up is needed when self oscillating the filter to use as a sine wave source. I create all my Kick sounds this way.)
You can read more about some of the issues on the Elektron users forum.

Yeah, Every analog machine I have takes at least 20 mins to really warm up. 5min on the elektron is a vast improvement.

Just watched some demos on youtube. where the drum beats / patterns came from?
Does the A4 come with some kind of Drum samples (kick / snare etc ...)? Or the users have to create their kick from OSC?
If this is the case, there is another question : Since the spec said it is a 4 voices 4 tracks machine. if Only 4 voices, how can I create a kick + snare + hh + lead + bass (total 5) track ?

The A4 is an analog machine man. NO SAMPLES.
To create all that on 4 tracks, you put the Kick and HH on one track using Parameter locks on the HH sound on the kick track. Play all the other tracks like you would normaly do on anything else.
You can P-Lock the HH sound on the Kick track so that parts in the sequencer play a HH sound instead of the Kick sound.

This is not my A4 demo it's done by Lymtroniks and is a straight out stereo render (no external effects etc) from a single Analog 4 composition - quite possibly the best A4 demo i have heard thus far.

might be stupid question but how does this work with a midi controller? Can you play it with a keyboard?> How hard is it to impliment it? Is it 4 analog voices? Can it do polyphony?

Keyboard is plug and play like most midi synths, but you can only control one voice or "track" at a time. No Polyphony or unison mode as of yet. This was cealry designed with the sequencer in mind, not a keyboard. There are a lot of people asking for this in the OS upgrade.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago, and I must say that I'm thrilled with it. A good sounding analog with this degree of control at this price? I recall that before they announced the price on this, people thought it would be a lot higher.
You can do some pretty crazy stuff with it. The parameter locks can be used on the oscillator waveform, for instance, so you can construct a sequence with an analog oscillator, but also have some steps use whatever you have plugged into the inputs. And this can be modulated.....
And I am very far from an elektron fan boy. But I am a fan of good analog sound with lots of modulation possibilties, and they really got this right (not to say that there couldn't be some improvements, but that's always the case).
