What about those Kramer EVHs from the 80s?  One popped on craigslist last year... I should have investigated it.  One day I will get a guitar with a floyd.

Re: What's the deal with those new EVH guitars?

My experience has been that the only Floyd's worth having are the Original FR, Schaller, Gotoh or the original Ibanez Edge. All the cheaper ones that I've owned or tried, and I'm guessing that the ones on these EVH guitars fall into that category, are pretty shit. Even if they are set up really well, and stay in tune decently, they sound awful to me.

Re: What's the deal with those new EVH guitars?

i think the EVH brand is associated with Fender.

these look pretty cool.  where are they made though?  at $900, i'm guessing korea or china or mexico?  that makes $900 too much.

Dolls may be smaller than 12 inches, but as long as they still have clothing that can be completely removed.

I'm assuming anyone using a Floyd would have so much gainz and brootz on their guitar that the sound of the guitar wouldn't matter too much.  :smileysurprised:

I like the FR licensed bridge on the Charvel So Cal.

A white and black one with a black pickguard would be what I'd want.

Holy hell those things are expensive.

How did they rip EVH off though?  Didn't he agree to it?

Re: What's the deal with those new EVH guitars?

Damn, can't find his link.  There's a guy out there that makes Frankenstrat replicas with tons of options available.  Think his prices ranged from $600 and up up up but his guitars looked amazing.  Way better than this thing.

I remember contacting the guy after watching this youtube Panama lesson but I can't find his info now.

Find that info!

One of these days I want to get a floyd rose... one of those would be perfect.  I don't mind one pickup, but I'd dig a tone AND volume control.  I'd prefer a solid color over the VH stripes, too.

Find that info!

You have good taste. My son and I chose that motif when we redid his first bass.

Re: What's the deal with those new EVH guitars?

Found the info!  There's a ton of info on the site, but you have to work to find it.  I haven't bougth anything so I can't say whether or not they make good guitars.

On the Floyd Rose:

To upgrade to the Original Floyd Rose is $150.

The new Floyd Rose FRT-1000 tremolo is the stock tremolo on Mean Street models. This is an exact clone of the Original tremolo and is only manufactured for Floyd Rose, Inc., so you know it's good! It's just not made in Germany.

Re: What's the deal with those new EVH guitars?

I told myself no new guitars this year... or atleast until I get some stuff fixed around the house.  My dishwasher and oven broke over the last couple of months.... but I got a SG and some other stuff.  I actually want to get back into recording, so I need to get that room set up.  I'm not handy like 2man though.
