This is a first in a long time

I'd heard least five of the albums that won Grammys tonight.  Fun, Lumineers, Mumford, Jack White, Mars.  Stop saying, "Who?" and wake the fuck up.

I've heard all but Mars. I won't ask "who" but do ask "why?" The Grammies are meaningless to me.

Personally, I didn't watch the Grammys...I was overcome with disappointment upon learning that we were going to miss another trademark Kanye temper tantrum...award shows without Kanye West making an ass out of himself are hollow and meaningless.

You can always tell the forumites who gave up on contemporary music culture and listen to oldies stations.

If you move to LA you can console yourself by watching Black and White Night when it airs on the local PBS station five times a week.

Hasn't the grammys always been about marketing to 13 yo girls? You can tell the posters that still listen like 13 yo girls.

You mean like Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, and Kenny Garrett?

<<<<You mean like Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, and Kenny Garrett?>>>>
Didn't they get like all of 30 sec with some voice over?
All in all it was pretty lackluster IMO. Jack White seemed to dial it in, and still managed to be the best thing on it. I usually like Bruno Mars, but I did not get the Marley tribute at all. I didn't here much Rasta in there.
I like the Luminers, but they always seem to do the same damn song every time they are on TV. Fun is not fun to me. The Levon tribute was nice, but come on, how many times have we gotta hear The Weight? And I have no idea what planet that Ocean guy was on.

Re: This is a first in a long time

If you find your music on the grammy's you simply don't get it and are part of the problem.
