Love it.
I think these two ran through the song once before going on stage and they still sound great. Assholes.

that was lovely

It's such a beautiful tune. It's hard to improve on the original although Beck does a fantastic job of it.

The Jeff Beck is perfect. Here's my cover, inspired by the Jeff Beck version. I went through the JB tab in GW a couple years ago, then I thought, you've got a goddam lapsteel that you never play, why not adapt? So I programmed a crude bass & drum part on my ancient Casio, had couple cups of coffee, and had at it. I grew up with the song, my dad had the original LP.
Sorry about the out of control slides. IIRC, this is like take 4.02-20-2013 07:20 PM

I really like the studio version El Becko did for some movie. It´s got a nice atmosphere to it.

Nice job Eddie! I like it. Thanks for sharing. Now I want a lap steel too.
You don't happen to have a scanner do you?

I always thought Setzer did a good job on Sleepwalk.

Hey, thanks man! I do have a flatbed scanner, but it's not hooked up at present....you mean for copying the tab? Cause, there's really not much to it, Beck basically sticks to the melody and makes sure to hit a tasteful few chord-defining notes, using his superior whammy skills to mimic a 10 string Fender multi-course steel guitar(s) set up. There are a couple different Santo & Johnny live clips on YT that I looked at to see if I could learn anything, and a bunch of lap steel players' covers to see how they appoached it. The biggest revelation to me was finding the C6 tuning, (You're taught to use I V I III V I). C6 (I III V VI I III), lets you hit much more convincing minor chords, plus the majors, and the slick-sounding 6ths.
I've been meaning to PM you about Fayetteville, I grew up there, we might have a few mutual aquaintences. ( More likely, your dad & I might have a few mutal aquaintences, lol.)

toss up between Setzer or Larry Carlton's version. don't have the clip at the moment.
