An on-duty transit officer arrested a man after he allegedly tried to rob a Charlestown Dunkin’ Donuts with a spoon.
The suspect, identified as Michael Wallace, reportedly threatened cashiers at the Cambridge Street store with what appeared to be a knife. Police later found that the man had been holding a spoon with the rounded end out like a blade, according to an interview on WHDH posted at 7 a.m. Monday.
Officer Matthew Donovan with the MBTA Police entered the store during the incident and was able to stop the suspect, according to WHDH.
The exact date and time of the incident was not included in the report.
Charlestown Patch will have more details as they become available.
